Prof. Peterman belongs in the ancient world that he so lovingly talks about. I never thought that Plato and Aristotle could become so boring. I took a ancient political philosophers class previously and I'm still confused in his class. He is very passionate about the ancients, and if you show the same passion, you will do fine in his class.

Nice, helpful and knowledgable guy. He is old school in the best way. I'm sad to see this class end. Papers and tests not difficult if you attend class and do the reading.

Material isn't hard, but Peterman's rambling makes it confusing. I'd just stay home and read the book rather than attending class. His TA made the material more clear than he did.

While he is a nice guy, he really likes to ramble on and on when lecturing, and really doesn't say ANYTHING. Then again, political theory (aka philosophy) is all about saying nothing in a bunch of words, so I guess I can't blame him. I really didn't learn anything in class and think I just got more confused. Still, easy grade more or less.

Political Philosophy at its best. Peterman knows what he's talking about, welcomes other opinions, and takes you for a spin in the worlds of Aristotle, Machiavelli, Hobbes, etc. Don't sit in back if you have trouble staying awake. TAs are fair. READ Political Questions book!! Ask questions; go to office hours; papers are tough.

Sit in front and you'll never fall asleep! I like to stare at prof's rosy cheeks! I Never touched the book, and got A's on quizzes and midterm by attending some of lectures and sections (TA does good job reviewing class lectures). Read the Poli Sci Questions Book, if u don't what's happening in the text book. Papers were a little challenging =(

His concentration on ancient political philosophy made this class especially interesting. His lecture was really good and his expectations were pretty clear.

This class is just a good experience, his lecture style really laid back and extremely interesting. The only conn regarding Peterman I'd say is that he puts a greater emphasis on classical philosophers (his specialty) over the modern ones. Go to class and do reading, I got an A no problem.

While Peterman does have some interesting insights, the class material is extremely difficult. Also, he has a tendeny to ramble on. The expectations for papers are never made clear. Your grade basically depends on the TA. Dont take this class unless you absolutely love theory and ancient thought.

The lectures are entertaining and he tries to make the material come alive. It's a poli sci class, so obviously there's a lot of reading. You need to work pretty hard to get an A, but it's fairly easy to get a B.

Prof. Peterman made it clear what each of the texts were talking about and made boring text interesting.Don't miss lectures-the classical notes didn't always capture what he was talking about. You'll be okay skimming the notes.Get a good TA and take advantage of office hours.Interesting class overall

I didn't have a very good time with this class (got a B though). Lectures are interesting and insightful, but expectations for papers, tests, and quizzes are unclear even if you attend class regularly. Also, it sucks if you get a pissy TA, because the TAs do all the grading.

Interesting class, but definately don't take it in the morning unless you are a morning person. He really gets you thinking and it might be better to have a class before it, so you're ready. Peterman is very intersting and has a conversational way of lecturing. sometimes goes off on tangents.

Generally if you regurgatate Peterman's interpretations of whatever your studying as opposed to thinking for yourself on midterms and papers, you should do fine. Class isn't required if you read/get classical notes, pretty straitforward material, just boring.

Peterman has some very interesting insights and is great about encouraging and intelligently answering questions in class. The quizzes are random and they suck, and the papers aren't thrilling. It's hard to know quite what you're supposed to study. Nonetheless, an enjoyable class.

very boring class; material is tough, however class is not that hard. there are 2 quizzes in the class too which is annoying. peterman's lectures are not that interesting and all he does really is read from the textbook and get off on random tangents. lectures also always go at least 5 minutes over

Awesome class, very easy. Don't do the readings, just go to class, take notes, and listen. Peterman is very smart, and doesn't hesitate when students ask tough questions. Very interesting too.
