Took several courses with Miller. Unfortunately, he cares very little about his students and profession, which is evident in the way he runs his classes. When he does lecture, you can see that he is well-informed and knowledgeable, but his desire to share this learning with the students is too limited to be of much use.

Here's the deal: Miller smells like cigs, is sick a lot, and speaks slowly. But he's also got a fabulous Southern accent and sense of humor, so if you're patient, you'll learn to love him. Easy class, attendance def. not required.

super easy. great gpa booster class. you could miss every single class and just turn in the papers and you'll do fine. he's a nice guy if you talk to him, and he cracks an occasional joke in class, just don't take if you're really interested in learning the material. gives about 3-4 short essays per semester and thats it.

dr. miller is the best! take him for a super easy class. he's so laid back and will let you turn in papers late and miss as many classes as you need. he's absent himself a lot of the time. here's a tip for his papers: he's pretty much the only lit prof ever who actually likes when you summarize the reading. EASY A

Did a good job picking interesting selections to analyze throughout the semester. Exams were extensive but allowed me to really reflect and analyze the readings. Harsh grader, found it difficult to achieve a 4.0 on even one exam. Places too much value into class participation into the grades. Boring at times, but selections were interesting.

here's the deal with dr. miller: he only cares as much as his students do. if you take him for intro to lit or something thats required he is going to spend half the class smoking but in his upper level lit classes he is so fun. very straightforward assignments and attendance does not count. i recommend him if you're a decent writer.

Had him for various Lit classes, creative writng, etc. Thought he was great. Laid back. Likes a "sit around and discuss" atmosphere. If you're looking for someone to stand in front of the class and lecture and throw facts at you don't take his class. All he wants is for you to read the material and interpret it, understand it, learn something from it. I found his writing guidance a great inspriation and his approachable demeanor a relief among a bunch of other stuffy profs.

When I hear kids talk about him, I shake my head and laugh. Without a doubt, the WORST teacher I've ever seen.. but also, the easiest. He'll never show up, and when he does he's completely trashed, or stoned. We didn't read 3 of the 5 books we had to buy for the class. Easy A.. dont expect to learn.

Doesn't give a sh*t about his students; won't even look you in the eye. Spends half of the class outside smoking, if he shows up! For all the time you spend on each test, all you get in return is a grade (no comments), usually lower than expected. Waste of your life and money, take someone else.

Waste of time. Doesn't show up for class on time, leaves early or just doesn't show up without notice. Reads aloud and stumbles on every word or adds his own. No method to the madness of his grading.. no marks on my papers, just a number. Not worth your time or money.
