I don't know who wrote the negative reviews but they are completely inaccurate. Professor Russell is incredibly caring and as long as you put in effort it will reflect in your grade. Discussion and participation are important and you have to read a few books, do a performance, and take home midterm/final.

Intro. Performance Studies. I really liked this class a lot. What you put in is what you get out i got an A. There are 4 textbooks needed for class. 3 performances, 3 papers for those performances and 2 small papers about outside performance. No tests or finals. Notes sometimes, textbooks needed, classes include practicing lines and group work.

Puppetry in performance. Not a hard class really but a lot of work involved. 3 Papers on puppetry;one based on a puppet show you have to attend. Notes sometimes. Most classes you are working on a shadow puppet show for him. 2 books were needed not expensive though. This class opened my mind to puppetry. Prof. Russell is a good guy.

Monotone, takes attendance when he remembers. Random quizzes when he decides to give one, midterm and final are based on movies where you talk about the communication skills that we discussed in class. Easy class, just can get quite boring.

nice guy, easy class. we only had 4 or 5 quizzes, and the final and midterm were papers based on movies and speeches. he tends to become kinda monotonous after a while, and it takes him forever to grade papers and assignments. it's been almost a month, and i'm still waiting for my final grade.

I was lucky to have had Larry as the Prof for my very last graduate class. If he was the first Prof that I had would have left school. An absolute ass with no idea as to how to teach and draw you into the subject at hand. Pouts and whines like a little girl when he runs into students who think outside of his small little world. He's a stain on HU.

This guy is so boring I wanted to take my own life. He seems very nice, and he wants you to do well, but he is boring as hell and uses up EVERY SINGLE minute of class time, even if it's just to talk about boring**** that doesn't matter. Take him if you want an easy A, but not for entertainment.
