She teaches this class as a seminar type class. It seemed very repetitive with many simple topics stretching for multiple class days. Homework usually consisted of small 2 or 3 question assignments. Papers are almost a weekly thing with discussions held about the papers after completion. She is very dry and I really don't like her classes.

She seems to treat her upper level courses as they should: as a seminar. She requires readings which are typically accompanied with short assignments that are shared in class discussions. She always makes sure to the students and builds off of what you have to say. Would love to take more of her classes

Dr. Parendes give you an insane amount of homework over the semester. She teaches her class in a way that will remind you of high school. She is nice and gives good study guides for her tests, but expect to do a ton of pointless homework and readings.

Great class. Great Professor who is really there for you and is really nice. She try's real hard to get you to pass and if you don't that is your fault. Study guides have answers straight from the test. And even gives review sessions to go over everything on the study guide. Great class

I LOVE her. I took an upper level geog class with her right after switching majors to geography. She understood when I struggled bc I sat down & talked to her about the change & how it was only my 2nd geog class. A LOT of work, treated the class as a seminar. LOTS of discussion, be prepared to talk bc everyone is req'd. Some childish busy work.

TERRIBLE! Be prepared for childish group work, insanely long study guides, and assignments worth too many points that she grades too hard. She is one of those professors who will call you out for going to the bathroom, DO NOT TAKE!

We also needed ID# 9780061580376. She is REALLY into her work. Her study guides are useful if you take the time to do them correctly. They're just off your notes and mini assignments. She does give a lot of reading. She also gives easy follow-up reading quizzes where you can use the book. I haven't read either book and aced her class.

She gives alot of work, and homework. Grades differently than normal, which sucks because you do alot of work and the points dont add up. You take 4 test and there is a whole page of fill in the blank on every test.. and alot of open-ended questions that you have to answer.

This class is terrible! As you see, it is a 100 level course, and she honestly does treat it as though it were a 500 level course! Be prepared for 6 page long study guides and "reflection assignments" that are 4 pages long and only 20 POINTS! Seems nice but amount of work for a class I don't "need" is too much!

I've had Dr. Parendes for 4 different classes because I learned so darn much from her. She isn't the easiest, expect a fair amount of work and give it a good effort, you will be rewarded. I only wish I could take her for some other course! Very knowledgeable, very kind (don't take advantage of her meek and mild manners!)

Very clear professor, she explains everything very well(to the point where you really don't need a textbook). Class can get boring, homework is given. But overall, she is good, she does care about your grade, and she will take her own time off to help you; even without you asking for it.

Very caring. Class can be less interesting at times if your not that into the class i.e. if your taking it for a core class. Is very understanding and is always available for help. If you need an ethics course or taking this class for your major I recommend Dr.Parendes.

Very fair professor. Her course requirements are expressed at the beginning and if you do everything that is expected you will receive a good grade. She is very knowledgeable. Research, reading and writing intensive. Highly recommend for higher level courses you will learn the material! Always willing to help. No text book. No test for this course.
