I wanted to thank Laurie Sprankle because she was my favorite professor when I went to Penn State Altoona. I changed my minor to history because of her and took every class with her that I could. She has a real passion for history and is very knowledgeable. You will learn a lot from her.

Sprankle classes were some of the highlights of my Penn State Altoona experience.. Yes, I was a history buff before, but I honestly felt like I learned in her classes. No, she doesn't teach blow off, easy A classes. Yet, she is fair in grading, clear in her teaching and most of all, you will learn more than you knew before taking her class.

Took her pre- and post-Reconstruction courses during my undergrad. She is fast but thorough, so you have to keep up with the notes. Papers and tests were in depth, but this is History. That's the idea. Changed my major to History because of her. Guess what I do now? I teach it to college kids.

I just did a search for Ms. Sprankle on the internet to thank her. I had 2 classes with her 8 yrs ago (I was 35 at the time) and was just reflecting on the classroom discussions we used to have. Even at my age, those discussions taught me to think through issues with more clarity. I'm surprised to see any negative comments at all. We loved her!

In an online class of hers. I hate it. I usually love online classes because of the convenience in my life. But her is worse than attending class. Its a lot of work, a LOT of papers/writing. She is very strict about the structure. Its stressing me out. I usually love writing. I may have to drop it. I need time for my work directlytowards my major.

Sprankle is amazing. Best professor that I have EVER had. I don't know what people are talking about. She's NOT hard. I hated history prior to this class & I didn't have to study my butt off but got an A with no problem. The final paper is fun to do & the essay tests are easy if you aren't lazy. LOVE THIS PROFESSOR!! Jump on the Spankle Bandwagon!

I never passed a class until I had her. The essay tests aren't bad, you get a choice of 2 3 or 4 questions. Worst part was the paper...it sucked. She wants details!!! She has a great sense of humor and our class laughs every daywith her!

Worst prof i've had yet. Yes, she knows her stuff, but unless you're a history major, all the work is unnecessary. The tests are ALL essays and she gives random quizzes. You have a huge 10 pg paper, and a 600 pg book to read. She talks way to fast and doesnt give enough time to take the notes. On top of that, shes a bitter person, DONT take her!

i loved her! she definitely knows her stuff and you can tell! she has a great sense of humor, tests aren't too bad if you know your stuff & there is a 10 page paper (you choose the topic, not hard to write!). i'd reccomend her to everyone!
