Outstanding professor. Controversial for the sake of being controversial. Provokes wild discussions based on readings, which made it a fun class. Very nice guy but is properly harsh on those hoping for a "safe space." For a very far left and liberal professor, it was great that he didn't put up with the safe space stuff. He is gay Heisenberg too.

Dr. Radel is a great teacher-his lectures are engaging and funny. That being said, if you don't have an interest in theatre don't take THA 101 with him. He expects you to participate. He's also a tough grader of papers.

Dr. Radel will rip you papers to shreds, but will give you a fair grade. He likes to cause a ripple in the class by throwing out controversial comments, but he knows a lot about the subject and keeps most classes entertaining.

Went on a study abroad trip with him and absolutely LOVE him! He is very critical and can sometimes be too harsh with his comments, but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. You either love him or hate him. He is the most thought provoking professor I have had thus far and recommend him to those who truly want to be challenged.

Dr. Radel really helped me improve my writing. His feedback was both scathing and enormously helpful. His knowledge of the subject matter was simply *amazing*. I would definitely recommend taking this class. Also, he's pretty hot! :D

You read a lot. The class was better than I expected- I was initially not looking forward to this class. If you do the reading, participate, and pay attention, you should be fine. He knows what he is talking about and he makes witty comments often that make the class enjoyable.

This man is *amazing*!! His knowledge of Shakespear is encyclopedic, and I've never gotten so much useful feedback from a professor before. His only flaw is he doesn't take Harry Potter seriously as literature.

You pretty much either love or hate Dr. Radel. He has some great stories to tell and enjoys being irreverent - class discussions get quite interesting. Radel will rip your papers to shreds, but usually the grade is not as bad as his comments would lead you to believe. Definitely recommend.

Dr. Radel is pretty awesome. He's one of the most entertaining professors I've ever had, and I didn't find the class workload too difficult - just enough to keep me on my toes. Yes, he will say some controversial things in class, but don't let him get to you. Even if you don't agree with everything he says, he's certainly entertaining.

Don't take this class if you don't want your views on life to be challenged. Furman needs more professors like Radel, who is deliciously shocking. He's really helped my writing improve--making an A on one of his essays is the best feeling in the world.

Radel is a great professor...he's very engaging and really knows his stuff. He sometimes shocks people with the stuff he says but I never had a problem with him. If you're taking him be OPEN MINDED! I don't think he's a tough grader but others in my class disagree. He particularly likes students who contribute to class discussions.

I know that everybody gives bad ratings to english teachers that make them work, but Professor Radel is the best English teacher I have ever had. He is amazing at giving advice for improving essays and he's encouraging, inciteful, and fun. Sure, he is a little difficult. But Radel is the professor you need to get your writing to the next level.

be ready to be educated in things additional to the subject matter. dr. radel manages to teach his world view and the assigned material all in one class period. he gives detailed comments on papers and is fairly accessible (not enough office hours, however). overall, he's great. plus he's deliciously irreverent and RED HOT...
