I had him for physical chemistry and i loved his class. You could tell he really loved the subject. Sometimes a little hard to follow but he helped a lot in office hours. Tests were a bit hard, but the homework prepared you for everything you needed to know.

He's a great guy, and he really loves physical chemistry. He writes everything on the board in chalk in a logical manner, making sure everyone follows his logic as he goes. He tries to walk everyone through the material, which, given the difficulty of quantum chemistry, is very much appreciated. I highly recommend him for this class.

This was the most boring class I've ever taken. I do not buy that it is because it was an 8 am class that he was so bad because I have had a bunch of those and never been as truly bored. He is not a good teacher and just reads the powerpoints. The class was fullest when he wasn't here teaching!

God Awful teacher. A monkey could have taught it. All he did was read his powerpoint off the screen. He never gave examples.

HE WAS SSSSOOOO BORING! No one attended the lecture. There were on average about 30 people there and about 200 enrolled. The only time people went to lecture was when Ziegler was not there and Rubio came in to teach. Rubio is awesome! And do not fall asleep on Ziegler he'll yell FINE right next to you to wake you up.

Don't bother with the 8am lectures or powerpoints, they don't help at all for the exams. If you do the hw it should be an easy B if not higher. This class is boring and terrible but if you dont pass it, then you probably don't belong in any science major. The chemistry is extremely basic.

Chemistry class for non-biomed engineers. 8am lecture honestly not worth going to. make sure you get Rubio for discussion: i learned way more from him than from Ziegler. Ziegler scales the exam grades around a C+/B-. overall not too hard; this class is A LOT less work than CH101.

He is a nice guy and he unfortunately has to teach the 8 AM lecture. That being said... He is pretty useless. He teaches straight off of a power point (that he emails before the lecture). His tests are entirely on the reading and the homework problems. I attended every lecture because I thought I'd learn something I needed to know. I was wrong

He is a nice guy and clearly explains concepts in class. However, the book for CH131 is very advanced and technical, more so than his lectures. His exams were moderately challenging, but not too bad if you studied. The reason for many bad opinions of him (I think) is the fact that his lecture was at 8 am. Overall he's ok.

Absolutely worthless. When he says hes going to drop your lowest grade, he drops your lowest raw score, not your lowest scaled score. Not to mention that his lectures teach you nothing and his exams are very difficult. He made a mistake in my grade and was very difficult about changing it and didnt end up giving me the grade I deserved.

If you do the homeworks (which are not mandatory), you will do fine on the exams. 8 am class is early, but go if you want a reinforcement of the material. Ziegler is criticized, but cmon, its an 8 am class, everyone naturally sleeps, and really he's a nice guy (considering he also drops the lowest grade and also scales the final grades).

Lectures are worthless to go to, I went to the first 2 and haven't been since. You need to read the chapters and do the problems assigned, and you'll be fine. The tests are pretty tough though, you have to study hard for an A. Ziegler is useless though, he just power points you to death with crap and he doesn't want to be there. Garbage class.

I went to the first half of the lectures and slept through them, exams are tough. 8AM class is way too early for the way he teaches. He says some funny things when you're only half concious. Grade improved after I stopped going to lecture and just did everything on my own. Use the book, the internet and the TF or tutoring. Ziegler is useless.

Took several tries to meet with him, and when I ultimately met with him I felt like he was trying to intimidate me. His office chair is raised and so he sits higher than you during office hours. Lecture at 8am is boring and basically useless. TAs are mix of useless and amazing. Rubio is the best part of the class.

I took 2 years of chem before this class and it helped alot. I attended lecture 5 times at the beginning and slept through them all. My studying strategy was to look at his powerpoint slides and review the book. If ur knowledge of mathematical chemistry is not good the hw will help but if youve done a good amount of chem it will be a breeze.

Boooring class. I think it was 8 am lecture and I never went to class or I slept through it. Make sure you dont fall behind or you will be screwed for the tests. Try to learn the material outside of class because you will not be able to learn during class.

It was a rought class for 8 AM and Ziegler isn't the most enthusiastic person, however, he was very clear and is pretty generous when it comes to grading.

Nice guy at heart, but useless at teaching. Bores everyone who attends his 8ams. TF is useless too, just a mini version of Zeigler. Doesn't explain what is going on. Avoid this class if he is taking it. Try to get Rubio instead

A good professor, but extremely boring. Doing the homeworks will help you on the tests. No practice tests. Tests are moderate in difficulty.
