Awful teacher, but more importantly, horrible person. Rude, nasty, evil - the look on her face is always bad, and a good reflection of her very bad nature. Avoid this course and as much as possible - many people have already said that she is a very bad person, and having tested her, she very much confirms her bad reputation.

Rude and very arrogant (for nothing), and this, for only teaching entry level Hebrew at the university level. Giveret Leah should teach an entire class emphasizing only one word: chutzpah.

Hebrew is her native language, teaches elementary Hebrew at the university level ... so naturally easy work for her ... but then also vents about her salary. However, and for the more than 30 years here, still does not speak a word of French ... one extremely arrogant and nasty person ... without any sincere goodness whatsoever ... one big B ...

Lea is quite impatient with students who either don't understand or don't remember words. Buckle up, you're still going to have to work quite bit to get those words down but overall she's nice in her own way, quizzes and makes sure you can speak as well as write and you get to learn hebrew!

really good prof! i never saw her be mean, the assignments were really interesting and relevant and she marks very easy. all you need to do is participate and she will like you, she's pretty relaxed if you cant finish an assignment and gave a lot of extensions. take her class!

I think that she has done a great job teaching our beginner's Hebrew class. She likes to tell stories and incorporate info about Israel so that we all are a bit more interested. It's a small, fun class and she's been extremely nice and helpful. She answers any questions and works with students a lot in her office hours. She's also really funny.

Prof Fima is an excellent teacher. I find it hard to believe that the people below are talking about the same professor--she is not "mean". Come to class prepared and you will learn a lot. Her assignments provide a good framework for learning Hebrew as it applies to other disciplines and her knowledge of linguistics makes class more interesting.

Despite the other ratings, she's a great teacher for this class. She takes responsibility very seriously, but she'll be understanding once she sees you're committed. She's not as "nurturing" as Karen, but she can still be fun, and she loves linguistics, so she has lots of neat explanations for things like etymology. Awesome class if you're into it.

A NIGHTMARE! everything you hear about this woman is tru and not an exaggeration! she is horrible. she took pleasure in seeing me do badly. I missed a quiz, she failed me and i had to appeal to the dean. she has favourites, and if you arent one of them....drop the course! hours of homework everynight DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL EVEN PASS!

Judge her on easiness and helpfulness? She's tough and unhelpful. BUT she has VERY noticeably improved my Hebrew, where other teachers have made it decline. If you're there to learn and improve, she does a good job. Her faults mentioned are true, tho. Not sure how well gradewise I'm doing, either, her scheme is not visible to me.
