Lee Hardy is a very nice and friendly old man, but not the greatest prof. Although he is passionate about what he teaches, he has a monotone voice that nearly put me to sleep in every class and he isn't the best at explaining things. Make sure to take detailed notes on everything he lectures on.

This class is tough in general, but having a Prof that doesn't explain things very well doesn't help. His lectures were great, but when writing papers and taking tests, it was as if he never even talked about the material mentioned.

This class was very easy, especially if you pay attention in class. He assigns readings, but reviews the readings in great detail in lecture the next day. You are tested mostly on the lecture. He gives a review guide before the test, if you fill that out you are golden. Highly recommend taking this professor.

Fantastic professor. Really interesting, and gives a decent amount of work. Probably the best professor for a core class.

I enjoyed this class! His lectures are really great. Although there were plentiful assigned readings, he went over them in detail in class and made sure you took away the correct things from the text. I would recommend this professor.

Good prof. Lectures are somewhat dull, but very useful. He details all the readings very specifically in class. If you pay attention to lectures you will do great in the class. Good luck trying to copy his notes down though. Pretty unclear about expectations. However, he is very reasonable. Pretty easy prof, I recommend taking his philosophy class.

Helpful, clear, respectful to students, and absolutely intelligent. I was a dumb student in a very difficult class but worked really hard and got a great score. This can reflect that how a professor can bend the student when he himself is that flexible as well. besides, he is good looking ;)

Super easy class. He is a very nice and understanding man who is willing to help and loves what he teaches. Doesn't give much homework other than minimal readings, but his lectures cover everything anyways. His tests are very easy. Overall he is one of the best profs I have had. I would take another class with him if I ever had the chance.

One of my favorite core classes at Calvin and definitely one of my favorite professors. You really don't have to do the readings because he tests you on the class lectures.

I only took philosophy because I am required to for core, but I would definitely recommend him to anyone. There is minimal homework, and he goes over all the readings in class. if you take notes on what he says, you will do fine.

I could not have asked for a better professor during my one and only DCM. He was passionate about the material and liked feedback, while at the same time not forcibly demanding it. He is clear and open. Fun final project and good tying of the less exciting "Engaging God's World" book. (No worries, he's not a huge fan either!)

Good class for being a DCM. Like any other dcm there was a decent amount of reading, but easily doable. Interesting class and I recommend it. Prof Hardy is pretty cool, ask him about looking like Steven Spielberg. Favorite part: he wore a fleece and scarf almost everyday to class.

Hardy is a straight-forward prof, tests reflect class lectures. Not difficult material as long as you pay attention, his voice can get a little monotone, and his 50 min lectures could be said in 10 minutes. However it is a relatively interesting class and he's a nice guy, especially if you need assignment extensions.

Reading the Critique of Pure Reason is not exactly a walk in the park, but Hardy makes it bearable and makes even the most murky passages clear. Paper are hard, tests less so.

Really helpful guy. He gave me extensions on papers whenever i asked for them. Sometimes his lectures get a bit stale toward the end of class, but the content is solid.

He's pretty good. I learned pretty well from him, despite not understanding the texts as well as my peers. He kindly reviewed them the day they were due, to help those less gifted in Philosophy. He's not averse to giving extra explanation as needed, but he may wander from the point. Still, he deserves the ratings he currently has: I recommend.

Superb teacher. His lectures are clear and highly stimulating. You can tell he really knows his stuff, but he is also humble. Although just about all Calvin philosophy professors are excellent, Hardy is among the top 3 for me.
