Comment:

Dr. Wurm is wonderful. You do the homework outside of class and then class is spent talking things over that you didn't understand and doing problems, so you really need to do the work outside of class to get an A. Tests are open note open book and half the questions are homework problems. He is really nice and accessible outside of class.

Grades are based off exams and lab homework only- lecture homework is optional but still necessary if you want to do well. Overall a great instructor, very thorough. Willing to help and wants to see students who put in work succeed. Dedicated to learning. Don't miss class, though.

Dr. Wurm is a great professor. You definitely have to do your part as far as studying outside class but he gives really good feedback and is really helpful if you go to his office hours.

Fantastic instructor. The work is hard, but if you really just do the homework before class you should be totally fine. Wish I didn't have to take statistics, but I'm glad that I took it with him. Cool guy.

Dr. Wurm is an incredible instructor that really goes above and beyond to help his students succeed. While his style of teaching is very different from your typical professor, he makes it work seamlessly. Tests are tough, but he will give you all of the tools you need to ace it beforehand. If you put in the work, it isnt difficult to earn that A!

Really great guy, wish I could take him for more classes. Genuinely wants his students to learn and will do whatever it takes for you to understand material. If you need extra help outside of class he is willing to meet with you and personally help you one on one- not to mention he's just a really nice guy in general.

Very nice teacher and is there to help out anyone who's in need. He genuinely wants the students to learn so if you can show him you are learning then you shouldn't have any issues. The course itself is a bit difficult but if you received higher than a B in 3100 then you will be fine. It will prepare you for college and help you understand SPSS.

His exams are extremely tough. He does offer extra credit for hw assignments worth 2 points each. Attendance was taken at the start of the semester, but not mandatory . The book is a huge help in case you do not understand his teaching method. Lab is a savior! Basically, easy points to boost up your grade from lecture.

I came into this class prepared to work, but still could only get Ds on the exams thanks to unclear grading criteria and arbitrary standards. Nice enough guy, but he really has no business teaching an undergrad course.

Prof Wurm was great! I spent extra time with him in office hours. He is willing to help you if you're willing to exert effort in helping yourself. His exams are tough and you MUST understand concepts to pass his exams. Math by hand portions of his exams are easy. He gives 1pt extra credit for showing up to class totals to about 25pts GRADE SAVER!!!

PSY 5100 is optional, but a great grad prep course and helps you understand useful statistics. Dr. Wurm truly cares about his students and he is extremely intelligent. Show up to class, print out his slides, and you'll kill the exams. He's passionate about statistics and got me interested in a career in it. Best mentor I've ever had at Wayne State.

I loved Dr. Wurm. He is extremely educated and eager to help you learn with a little nerdy touch of hilarious. Obviously this class is not going to be a walk in the park, it's stats and you're in college. You're going to have to apply yourself. I am by no means a mathematician, but did very well in the class because I showed up and made an effort.

Super tough professor. He expects you to know a lot. You have to read the chapters! The average on the first test was a 65 and he said that was better than he expected. Totally surprised they haven't fired him for the grades we all get. Passing barely with a c, and I'm an a student. Good luck if you have to take him.

Don't take this professor. Most of the class is currently failing, and I am worried I will not be graduating this spring because of this class. The worst part-I have straight A's, honors, etc. so it's obviously not because I'm not trying or don't know how to study. I studied for his tests everyday and still cannot get higher than a D. STAY AWAY!

Honestly I would not recommend Dr. Wurm to any student who wants to get a good grade. You will NOT get an A regardless of how you study or how hard you study. We just took our second exam and I am thinking about withdrawing from this class. For the first exam the highest grade was an 86. If you don't care about your grade, take him.

One of the worst professors ever! I'm an A student and he ruined my GPA for graduate school.RUN from this professor. Very hard tests and makes everything way more complicated than already is. He thinks he is teaching graduate school.Does not curve. Do not take this professor for any classes, you will regret it. DO NOT TAKE HIM! JUST HORRIBLE!!!

He is a really nice guy does want his students to learn BUT his class is hard. If youre going to struggle with stats take another professor that allows you to use more during the exam. The grade range is insane and he doesn't curve which sucks being that we cant use as much during the exam than the other professors allow. Hard class, nice guy.

One of the best professors I have ever had. He is a great mentor and greatly improved my writing ability. He is always available and gives really great feedback.
