If you're interested in law school, taking Dr. Cutler is a must. Class is completely driven by student discussion of required reading. Make sure you complete the required reading; he calls on people at random and loves to embarrass students who are crazy enough to not do the reading. Surprisingly fair grader on exams, and grades on a curve.

Cutler demands more from his students than any other professor you'll ever take. He is the reason why Siena's pre-law program is well respected and has such a powerful alumni base in the legal community. His classes will prepare you for anything you will see in law school.

May the odds be ever in your favor if you are here. Be ready to work your butt off, reading every single day. Teaches by the Socratic method, so you will get ripped to shreds if you don't know or didn't read. However, if you can make it through his class, you can make it through any class in law school. And that's why he does it. Great classes.

As a law student, I can safely assert that this man's class WILL NOT prepare you for law school. What his class amounts to is an intense stroll through the supermarket aisles of his own self regard. He inspired me to go to law school simply because he said that I would never be accepted to one.

This man is the pre-law advisor and refused to answer my emails when I was a pre law student. His arrogance is the hallmark of what people view as wrong with academia. He's more interested in himself and his accomplishments than with helping students.

The class is hard. Be prepared. If he calls on you and you have not read, you will to be ripped to shreds. The exams are open book, but they're not. If you have to look into the book you are doomed. Participate in class, but know what you're talking about. Read the footnotes. Also 4lawschool case briefs will be your best friend. Good Luck.

He is by far the most valuable asset you can have at Siena if you want to go to law school. His class is a shock at first because it's taught like a law school class (socratic method), but once you get the hang of it you'll be leagues ahead when you get to law school. If you put in the work and seek him out he will do anything to help you succeed.

Starting 26 years ago, I had Dr. Cutler for a series of 4 or 5 courses in my major. Preparation was critical, attendance mandatory, great advisor and very intense. Great preparation for graduate school and public service. I wish that all professors got out of their students what Dr. Cutler achieved! That said, he never pitied fools either.
