Comment:

He is seriously under-rated as a teacher. He is old school and isn't trendy or touchy-feely. The under-25 students are too full of themselves to appreciate this. He doesn't shy away from confronting or challenging students' views, and he'll step on toes to make his point. Outside of class, he's extremely sincere, helpful and personable.

He has much experience to share and is more rigourous in his marking/lecturing than other education profs. Jocks expecting Hoop-Jumping 101 will be in for a surprise. Students need to learn how to write and think for themselves. He will reward critical thinking. He is very helpful outside of class, but why should he tolerate whiners in class?

Travis knows the education curriculum is inane, so he does things his own way. It's one of the only classes in education where you get some intellectual stimulation. He a little eccentric, but interesting, nonetheless. Get past his early irreverence, have a chat with him and you will see.
