Yvon is without a doubt knowledgeable but uses it in an intimidating way. For our class, we had two class presentations where during the question period Yvon would give us absurd questions that a 4th year student would not know. He will then continue being critical of our work in front of the entire class even if you got an A. Mean and aggressive!

Yvon is a tremendously knowledgeable professor who will patiently answer any and all of your questions. While his breadth and depth of knowledge can be rather intimidating, he goes above and beyond for his students. I am a better person from having known Yvon, and I know you will benefit from him as a professor, too.

The topic of the class was interesting, but the way he presented it made it boring. Although, he prepares you very well for mid-terms and finals, however, they are essay questions. If you do the readings and prepare for the midterms and final, you'll do very well in the course. Overall, he is a good prof, but I don't plan on taking him again.

Yvon is incredibly smart. A little intimidating, but the midterm and the assignments turned out to be easy and straightforward. He wants to inspire you for innovation, not regurgitate information on a test. No final, small paper. A dry class but he's hilarious.

I was very intimidated by him because I took Directed Studies with him so it was 1 on 1. He asked me tough questions but he was helpful along the way and his interest was in me learning not giving the right answers right away. To make a long story short he is an amazing professor and I learned A LOT from him. Would definitely go with him again.

I would take his class in a heartbeat! he is a very easy teacher and he makes the class interesting. You don't need a textbook for his class and theres only a mid-term, no final exam. His short written assignment are really easy..and he doesn't take attendance. Overall, he is one of the easiest teachers I've ever had!

Very competent instructor, his class is made up of exams, paper, presentation and participation. Exams are straightforward and he marks easy on the paper and presentation. His class has a big participation component but he gives many opportunities to get 100% on participation.

If you want an easy grade, take this course. Here's a hint, just show up, find out what the assignments are, then have someone hand them in for you. Of the 11 classes during the term, I went to 6, and still earned a B. Doesn't take attendance.

I found this class to be fairly interesting. The lectures do not appear to be useful but are very necessary when preparing fo the midterm and final essay exams! Make sure you attend all the classes! Yvon is a very fair and helpful professor. I recommend this class as an upper level Crim elective.

At first I was unsure what to think of Yvon. Found him to be a bit intimidating as he puts you on the spot at times. However Yvon is a great teacher with an amazing background whom has endless insight into this area of study.
