Comment:
The course material is interesting but the professor is absolutely awful. DO NOT take with her!! She is extremely unorganized, slides are posted but she changed them without notice! Her vocabulary consisted of "huh", "umm". Readings to do every week that you don't go over at all. This class was a waste of my time, I learned more by not attending.

I have never been so turned off from taking a class. I decided to take it out of interest, and by the second day of class, I already regretted it. You will learn the words "um," and "uh," more than the actual content. She is completely unorganized and will add slides without no notice. Almost better to skip class and learn on your own

Lesley is one of the best profs I have had at university thus far. You can tell that she is very passionate about the topic and it spreads to the students. The class has a rather large discussion component to it, but it isn't required for you to talk. She allows students to come to the points on their own, but accept alternate discussion points too

Lesley was a pleasure to have as a teacher. She has clear knowledge and enthusiasm. She evidently cares for her students. She taught this course in a way that was engaging and left me wanting to take more classes with her. Only downside is that her lectures can be a bit boring sometimes.

This history 135 was my favourite class of the semester. Lesley had deep knowledge in the content, and explained the information in an easy to follow way. She told us what would be on the midterm and final. She marks fairly and is really helpful with any questions you may have. I would definitely take another one of her classes in the future.

Decent class, she sometimes goes of on tangents. Otherwise it was a pretty good class. She gave us the mid term and final exam beforehand, however she marked the tests harder because of that.

Very easy class! This professor pretty much told students exactly what was going to be on both the midterm and the final. But, awful prof. Often had no idea what she was talking about, and her lectures were very unclear with wrong information. Very biased and will mark hard if she does not agree with what you are saying. AVOID IF POSSIBLE.

Sometimes unclear, although this class still remains fairly easy and good for a filler if unnecessary otherwise.

Lectures are disconnected from major course themes, she is incredibly unhelpful in and out of class, and overall is a poor teacher. Her classes made no sense, but she posts all of her lectures. Tests were easy but if you need help you better ask the TA because she won't give you anything.

This was the first History class she had taught and had some issues. While she is a genuinely nice person, the class was dull and she would appear to confuse herself during lectures or have inaccurate information in the presentation that she would say was wrong, but not change it.

Lesley was an amazing prof. She encouraged class discussions and got you to step out of your comfort zone with the presentations. She wanted her students to do well and gave us feedback as often as possible. A lot of reading though so be prepared.

I was sort of interested, but taking WGST with Lesley made me want to drop out of university. Serious. I hardly ever went to this class because I just couldn't handle it. Thankfully I have some life experience, but I feel bad for the girls just out of highschool who were all gung-ho on her propaghanda. I did like my tutorial, it was not lead by her

Comment:
WAY TOO SECOND WAVE. Unfortunately, many of the students were not particularly familiar with the theories before entering the class. She was unwilling to listen to modern understandings of feminism. I felt bad for all the people in the class who developed her skewed second wave attitude since she forces it on everyone - no critical thinking allowed

Picks favourites. Very hypocritical and will not listen to any other view or argument against her own. When you give your opinion she twists it to suit hers and so many people do not want to talk or go to class.

I would recommend Lesley as a prof to anyone who is a dedicated student. If you do your readings prior to class and attend class and participate you will have an excellent experience. If you don't do your readings (which there are a lot of) and don't attend class you will likely not do very well as she is big on class participation.

By far, worst prof I've ever had. She's disorganized and flaky, and she blatantly favors students. She'll love you if you're a suck-up, but you're better off taking a class from anyone but her.

I appreciated Lesley as a woman and an educator. I found this class on the body to be incredibly interesting and informative. She assigns way too many readings, but goes over them in class. She knows a lot and rewards students based on their effort in class! Work hard = good mark. Be prepared to talk a lot in class. I enjoyed her a lot.

Awful. Worst prof I've ever had, and I sincerely hope she reads this. I was so interested in gender studies prior to this class and she completely ruined it for me. She favours students, never knows what she's talking about, and gives the worst instructions for assignments. Don't take this class!!! If you must, find a different prof.
