Comment:

A very passionate professor. She has a sense of caring and compassion that is rarely seen these days. Very interesting material. I was a little bummed not to get into Luton's class, but I was glad that I was able to take Deviance with Harman in the end! Her class inspires me. Can't wait for the field trip!

Contrary to many opinionson here, Prof Harman showed up to all of the classes and was prepared. All the presentations went well and i found the class an amazing learning experience compared to the more dry quantitative research class. i liked the course, but as for other courses she teaches i can't really say.

I *really* enjoyed her class & teaching style. She really left an impression on me, she GENUINELY cares about her students and most of all Sociology. She is what a sociology professor SHOULD BE, and she has inspired me greatly. (Down side? Tends to get off topic and we ended up a month - at least - behind schedule at the end).

If you ever need a favour this is the lady to go to. If you go to class she will get to know you, and if you need a reference she will do one no prob. A great prof who knows her stuff, and will help you out in the future!

The Harmonator sucked, she's boring and loves homeless women too much. I hated her class, the best part was making fun of her with the rest of the class. Avoid her.

Harman didn't show up a few times for 8 am class, I wasn't impressed. She's an ok teacher, but seems a little snobby. Her tests are EASY, except for the final, lookout! What made the class worse was the TA, Bonnie - she was awful. Overall, it's not bad.

Brillant woman, but is too full of herself. Too afraid to ask questions in her class because I didn't want to be seen as dumb. She is passionate about her 'research' and perhaps would be better suited to research than teaching.

Power Point is good, easy to get a good mark in her class. Watch out b/c she screws you on the last exam. Pats herself on the back a lot--she thinks she's the best prof. She gets annoying with her personal stories.
