Comment:

The textbook is never used, the questions from the tests come straight from the notes. There are frequent group projects that boost your grade, but you'll need to somewhat study for the quizzes (take the sample quizzes!!!!). There's no final, but the fifth quiz is taken in the time slot of the final. He's a great guy and very helpful!

Comment:

Doesn't even use the textbook, but his lectures teach precisely what he wants on the tests. Come to class and you should have no trouble racking up easy points, especially on his oh-so-memorable oh-so-strange group projects. Despite how unorthodox his examples are to the real world, I feel I learned plenty - even as a writing major.

Comment:

Professor Small is very clear on what you need to do to be successful in his class. Do not have to go to class on days where you do since he emails you them. Make sure to go to class on group projects day and tests. Group projects help raise your grade and make sure to study notes completely for tests. Would definitely take again.

Nice, easy-going prof. Class is pretty structured: take notes few classes, group work day, maybe more note taking, the quiz, and do it all over again. Taking notes is optional bc he sends them to you as word doc. Never used the book, only need it if you miss a group work day. You HAVE to study well for the quizzes. Final exam is just the next quiz

Prof. Small is great, you don't have to take too many notes, go to class and pay attention, print out the pre notes on his site and double space and take notes there. He gives out free points randomly so go to class. I was not a big fan of group work. He has pre tests posted online, take those and gauge your weak areas, not easy but good

He is awesome. The textbook is useless. Don't buy it. The exercises make it impossible to get anything less then a C in the class even if you fail every test like I did. The tests are hard. Use the practice test he gives online as a guide to know what to study. Know the terms that are the answers to the questions and you'll be golden. Good luck.

Great Prof! Makes you responsible for your own grade. He gives you the notes through email and has inclass assignments. I suggest going to class b/c he offers extra credit sometimes. But don't take the emailed notes for granted. You still need to study! Quizzes are multiple choice and short answer. Prof. Small is cool, I would def take him again!!

Great guy and a great teacher but not necessarily easy. There was only one A in my entire class. The group projects are a blast and he?s always pleasant in class. Don?t get the book! He has his own notes.

Lew Small is the man...quirky, knows his stuff, and funny as hell. Tests can be a little tricky sometimes but still not bad - 25 MC, 5 short answer. Easy grader on the two short group projects/presentations. I hate the WSJ quizzes but that's about it.

He was nice person, but the class was no real advertising class, all we did was write down boring notes, and we did a couple of projects that were sort-of-interesting. Overall, I was a little disappointed. I would have done much better if we had done more things that pertained actual advertising versus having a history class on advertising

fashion marketing - lecutres, fashion police assignments aren't that hard, get to do a fashion show at the end of the semester, do one fashion poster, puts outlines of lecture online so you can print them out before you come to class, cool guy, really laid back and funny...watch for some awesome ties throughout the semester

Awesome professor! Very nice and easy class. No quizzes or tests. Only work is 2 ad presentations, 2 papers, and in class assignments that takes 10 minutes to do. Got out of class 30 minutes early everytime. Recommend taking!
