Comment:
Dr. Rodriguez is my favourite professor in the french department because of her teaching style. She gives a lot of homework but it is always relevant to exams. She will even take EXACT questions we have practiced in class and put them in the exam. She is also so wonderful if you go see her after class for extra help. Couldn't recommend her more.

Liliane is my favourite professors in the French Department. However, her teaching style in this course was different from other courses. She was late, scatterbrained, and rushing through lectures, leaving course material and explanations ambiguous for students who did not take a linguistics course before. Textbook supplemented for the lectures.

Comment:
As a student who has taken numerous courses with Liliane, her English to French translation was by far one of my favourites. Liliane engaged her entire class in each lecture, and always offers modern and common ground synonymous translations that students have to offer. Assignments were very easy, and all the tests had many options to choose from.

Comment:
She is keen on translation and is often ill-prepared for class, not remembering what we did last class, what homework was or wasn't corrected already. Her English is adequate for University level but she is certainly stuck a few decades back. Almost like she wants to relive her undergrad years half a century ago! Needs work in current English!

Comment:
She can be caring and attentive if she's in the right mood but she's also unable to understand students who don't think the same way she does. She offends her students often and seems to be stuck in the 1960s. Late and scatterbrained for sure. Spends most of the class correcting homework.

I had my doubts about her at first, she is often late and quite scatterbrained, however she proved to be a remarkable professor. Liliane is kind and really cares about the success of her students. She is willing to offer help outside of class. Her lectures are boring, but the course itself is very interesting. It is important to do the homework.

Comment:
Liliane provided excellent lectures and details on translation in both French and English, incooporating everyday relevant material (newspapers, geolinguistic variation). She provided many examples and engaged the class in every lecture. A wonderful professor who is personable, caring, and genuinely there for her students.

Comment:
She was very knowledgable about the course material and supplemented the textbook nicely when the reading was too easy. The tests had a lot of "pick one of three questions" style questions which made the class more enjoyable. She is a bit disorganized but not to the point that it effected students learning.

Comment:
Often late, made us buy a book, which is very difficult to understand and doesn't explain anything. Class exercises aren't even marked so all the students don't do their homework and we do it in class instead! She is unaware of the francomanitoban accents and focuses too much on the french accents, leaving most french student frustrated.

The instructor is very knowledgable and obviously really enjoys teaching phonetics. A little disorganized in class at times, e.g. not knowing that she already taught some topics and teaches them again exactly the same way. She is rarely available during her posted office hours and emails are often ignored. Disappointing for students needing help.

Liliane is by far one of the most amazing professors in the Modern Languages Department. She explains lessons throughly and repetitively while engaging the entire class. Her own book also highlights all the key terms in the lectures concisely. She is always available during her office hours and responds to e-mails quickly. Genuinely amazing.

Despite the comments below stating that shes tardy and a scattered brained, that hardly warrants such a low score. I have found Professor Rodriguez to be very patient and helpful. She brings a great amount of enthusiasm into the classroom and if you show the same about learning french then you'll enjoy the course.

Took Stylistique Comparee with her. Class is pretty dry but there are no surprises, questions are typically from exercises. Goes out of her way to be helpful and accomodating. Textbook is ancient and mostly unnecessary because she gives a ton of handouts. Some classes are fairly fast-paced and if you skip you'll miss important explanations.

I took phonetics with her, and she was great! She took time to re-explain difficult concepts. She was always ready answer questions, and would even walk and talk often after class. She is passionate about what she teaches and that's what made it such an enjoyable experience. I have never had such a friendly prof! Take her classes!!!
