Don't skip class because everything on the tests are said in her lectures. She is very quirky and tends to go off on a lot of tangents. There are only 3 tests in the entire class and they're pretty difficult. The News Analysis Assignment is extremely hard and her rubric/grading criteria is not the clearest.

She is not a horrible person. I feel like I would like her outside of class. She grades ridiculously hard and does not explain why. She changes her mind a lot. Group Project which was stupid because she said we could do one thing, but then gives us a bad grade. Messed up my GPA badly. Nice lady, horrible professor.

What a character. I would avoid Jencson at all cost. The women is a horrible grader, and doesn't explain why she grades things the way she does. The class was slow, and very much one sided. Hardest college course I've taken. Worst professor I've ever had. May your grades Rest In Peace.

Dr. J thinks her students are all anthropology experts. I am a straight A student I had the hardest time in her class. She does offer extra credit. The textbook we used was one she compiled herself, so know the material. Her tests were awful. I would spend hours studying the vocab and the study guide I made, but that wasn't enough. You have to read

She's not a bad teacher. Her voice is annoying, but she teaches the class at a level that someone with no anthropology experience can come in and will understand. People said there was stuff on the tests that she didn't discuss in lectures, but it's ALL in the readings. She says that at the beginning of the class. There's one essay.

probably the worst professor I've had at app so far. attendance isn't mandatory and classes are so painfully boring to sit through. tests are hard and she doesn't give you feedback on anything. i heard she was retiring last year so I signed up for this class, but she's still here and still terrible.

She is hard to follow, the material she goes over in class is very hard to see during her test, the test are hard to understand and very hard to study for. She doesn't give you good feedback she is very short and not very instructional. She expects you to think, breathe and act like an anthropologist from day one.

May seem a little odd- especially the way she lectures. She tends to "dumb down" her lectures and present them in a really simple way and sometimes it seems like she's teaching her opinion but she really does know what she's talking about. She isn't tech savvy-no PP & doesn't use asUlearn. don't need to do readings. lots of videos, One paper.

I recommend that under NO circumstances you take a class with Jencson. Her voice is grating, lectures will put you to sleep, and beware the transphobic undertones. The class is easy to pass as long as you go to class occasionally and skim the readings. The grading criteria is never clear and there's practically no feedback on anything. DON'T DO IT!

She made this subject I was so interested in learning more about, extremely boring. She's straightforward and is going to tell you how she feels. Three exams, no cumulative final but the questions on the exam are very vague. One writing assignment that you can decide to either do on gender, race, or class. I barely used the book.

She is never clear or actually talks about what is needed for exams. DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE with Jencson unless there is no other professor left, and if that's the case, wait a semester, it is NOT worth it.

Jencson is incredibly rude, insensitive to certain issues, not at all helpful, teaches directly from her opinion even though this is a class that is supposed to be taught based on facts, and just an all around terrible professor.

Dr. Jenson teaches just on her opinion. Her tests are very confusing because on many instances she gives A, B, C, D both A and B, E all of the above. The answer choices are just not clear whatsoever.

This class is so easy if you just show up. It's a lot of listening and note-taking, but there are only 3 tests so it is super easy to get an A. Her voice is very off-putting but if you can handle it, you'll be fine

The lectures are long and drag on, and she only lectures strictly on her opinions. 3 exams that required a lot of studying because they are pretty tough and very confusing. But, GO TO CLASS even though attendance isn't mandatory. Read the book it was also helpful on tests, because through her lectures she doesn't talk about everything on the exam.
