She is a great teacher. Interesting and helpful. She grades easy as long as you do the work. Show up and you will do well. I took 2 courses with her.

This is a really easy class; however, there are random pop quizzes so when you need to read a book, read!!!! She does summary quizzes and quote quizzes. But other than that, you can kinda zone out pretty easy in class, you are never tested.

Good professor! Goes over reading in class well so everything is clear. She does give pop quizzes sometimes, but if you read they really are simple. I would recommend for literature core!

Enghish 101 is a writing class, so you write a lot. She gives really good and interesting prompts for writing that make it easy to write. Not hard at all, easy A. Tests are easy and all quizzes are for extra credit only. Very nice lady.

Pretty good professor. Grammar lessons are very unengaging and a lot of them are common knowledge. She lets you use your laptop in class, so you can always do other stuff instead of listen, which can be nice. There are a lot of papers, but she's not to hard of a grader and lets you correct papers for additional credit.

She's an amazing person, but I have her from 6-9pm and even though her lectures are interesting they are impossible to sit through. There's little discussion in class--it's mostly her talking at us. I'm surprised she knows my name. I get that assignments should be twice as long as expected because we only meet once a week, but it's so much.

She is a good teacher but not an awesome person. She is more inclined towards people who talk and participate 'a lot' in class. Lets you re-write the paper, but always finds something wrong. She doesn't know that 101 students don't have a freakin Ph.D. in writing .

Professor Naranjo was great! I regretted the literature core requirement at first, but she helped me to enjoy reading the literature. Even though we had 7 books to read for the class in one semester, she picked books that were not only applicable to her lesson plans, but they were incredibly enjoyable to read.

I heard my friends talking about their English 101 courses and how they had to write about writing which sounds unbelievably dull. I'm so glad we didn't have to do that with Prof. Naranjo. The papers we wrote were about interesting topics, and she led good discussions. The grammar lessons get old. She is clear about what she wants on your papers.

She is a very nice, sweet lady. Clear on what is expected, grades according to your own writing style so if you're at all a competent writer you'll do just fine. class itself is pointless, everyone is on facebook/pinterest the whole time. no need to read the assigned writings either

Fascinating lectures, but the class itself felt a little pointless. It's an overview course, so there's a lot to read and very little discussion. I enjoyed it overall, but didn't have to put much effort in- which might frustrate more serious students. But if your interest area is native american literature, definitely take this class!

She is a nice lady. Fairly easy grader. Class is pretty pointless to go to, I just surf the web because you always bring your computers. Advice- Do not procrastinate on your research paper. Its the only really long assignment.

Fun, quirky, sweet, and humorous prof. This course is very easy if you are good at English. If you carefully read every single reading assignment (they are quiet reasonable), and put some effort into you papers, then you will do quite well. I've already had some American lit, but I learned a lot from this course. Recommended.
