She has lots of homework but all her test are at home open book. She is all about you showing initiative. She will give extra credit on her own if she see's you blackboard showed value and she has make up days.

Comment:

She's very sweet, VERY chatty, and very smart. Lots of work (about 3 homework assignments per week), but it is definitely manageable as long as you aren't messing around. You absolutely need the textbook to pass this class. She offers extra credit. Tests are only open book if they're online. Lectures are helpful & she tracks attendance.

Professor Pinneys deserves a 5.0. This is her former student antron. She's so freaking awesome. As long as you come to class and do all of your work and take notes you will pass without a doubt. I've been at J sargeant community college for a year now and she's by far the best teacher I've had so far. PHENOMENAL TEACHER AND PERSON!! PLEASE TAKE HER

I'm a senior at VCU and they didn't have any times for this required course that worked for my schedule. Took it with JSarg online to transfer back to VCU. Easy A. Do the DB and Learn Smart. Long research paper at the end. She's a bit of a slow grader, and slow to answer emails, but the exams were all open book. Impossible to fail this class .

She is very incompetent and does not give you any clear information. There is a huge long paper about the Milgram Study, by the end of the paper you are not even close to writing about the actual study. She just reads off the power-points and is 2-3 chapters behind your homework. Most tests are online and open book.

Slow grader. (Mostly) responsive to emails & helpful. Discussions on BB are boring & required weekly. Not a "show up & pass" class but you can easily get an A if you make an effort. You HAVE to study for the tests. Gives extra credit but it's a whole research paper! Lol no thx! Conflicting instructions sometimes. Assigns 2 papers, 4 tests, 1 final.

Lots of reading and writing; typical of an online class. Stay ahead on HW and read the text and you should do well. Conflicting instructions sometimes so clarification is occasionally needed. Very responsive and helpful! E-mails back within hours. I'd rather take this in-person than online; I think it'd be much more interesting that way!

Online course required too much work, answering 80 questions online per chapter, answering weekly discussion questions that consisted of 3-4 questions, writing a 3-4 page descriptive paper, and a 5-6 page research paper, and responding to 6 other papers, and 4 tests; had to drop the class

She is very intelligent and knows what she is teaching. However, most of the class we spent sharing stories and were far behind on the syllabus. I took her for Developmental Psych and all the work we needed to do was online and at home, class was only used for lectures.

Took her lecture in Fall 2012. Heavy usage of textbook, cannot miss class because she covers a lot each class on powerpoint, you have to study for this class. I never took a psy course prior to hers, and I was nervous being a freshman but I swear she is one of the greatest teachers I have ever had. Brilliant woman. I recommend taking her class!

I took Professor Pinney's class online. Some of her assignments needed clarity, but she responded to e-mails in a timely manner. Her tests come straight from the text and are open-book,(except the final), so mark your pages! Her expectations are high on papers, so take time to meet her guidelines. Keep up with your assignments, you'll be fine!

This professor never responds to emails but yet she send out emails to the whole class within a few minutes of you sending her an email. I'm taking her class online and there is no other way except by phone to contact her. Don't take any classes with her unless you absolutely have to!!

I always had a love for psychology but at was until I took this class. The professor did not respond to emails in a timely matter, if at all. Test where open book except the final. I should mention I took this class online. I have had several other online classes and none this bad.

Prof Pinney is great. If you show you care and you do the work it is very hard to get less than an A or B.I took her online class the first test was pretty hard and i failed it the next 3 were open book got 98 on all, and final was not open which I failed but passed with an A.The only other assignments are 2papers and 8DB responses to other papers.
