She is understanding and nice but you have to participate, i got an A on every assignment and participated went on field trips and i got a B+ i don't know how. She doesn't have anything clear and concise the class makes everything up no real point to this FYS class. Easy class though overall.

The one thing I will remember more than anything from taking classes with her is the cringe-worthy sniffles and sounds she makes into your headset and the loud bumps as she takes another swig of diet coke. Obnoxious, but a decent piano teacher.

There was no clear grading system. I participated in the class discussion more than many classmates, and I feel like they might get the same grade as me. She sometimes seems clueless and lets our class sit staring at each other awkwardly until someone else says something. It wouldn't be so bad if she were more prepared for class discussions.

Not helpful to students who took a little longer to learn. She would fly through pieces and expect you to play them by the 3rd time you play after you just looked at it. This is for all her keyboarding classes, not just 197.

Do you like Jack Russell Terriers and Diet Coke? You'll love Prof. Strouf if you do! Class gets a lot chaotic at times, but you have to enjoy a professor who's asked if she needs to smack a student!
