Lindee Owens was really committed to our learning. She helped me outside of class and helped me get a tutor in addition to her help. I told her I needed an A and she helped me get there with great explanations in lectures, and being available through email and office hours. I learned more new & important things about English than any other class.

If you find yourself needing direction & things laid out for you, this is your class. I have taken an honors writing class & Prof. Owens blows it out of the water. Her readings are interesting/mature, she leaves room for discussions, & expects you to work for a B! Her office is always open & she makes an effort if you make one first (visit her).

Very nice and an interesting class, but expect an assignment due everyday. She is an incredibly tough grader and takes off points for everything. I did everything I could and still only came out with a B.

If you want an easy Comm 2 class, do not take this one. There are a ton of big assignments. Mrs. Owens really makes you work for your grade; however, you learn A LOT throughout the course. She is funny and will keep the class interesting.

This class was much more difficult than necessary. She specifically says she does not care about your grade. She gives hard papers with no examples and does not give clear directions. If you want an easy A this class is not for you. I try my hardest and still get a B. Expect papers that are unlike anything you have ever written with no instruction.

She is a very nice lady but she is indicative when it comes to what she wants you to write. she grades really hard. if you want to get an easy A she is not the teacher to take. Also, utilize her office hours. I honestly don't recommend her unless you don't have a life outside of her class.

If you do not like English or you're looking for an easy A, this is not the class for you. Professor Owens really makes you WORK for your grade and what you get, is what you earned. She is very helpful, which means: GO TO OFFICE HOURS IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND SOMETHING. Overall, I enjoyed this class and the challenge.

Mrs.Owens was a great teacher. She is the best English teacher I have ever had. She is sarcastic, witty and very intelligent. She gives a lot of work, but is very clear in what she wants. She is a fair grader, gives you what you deserve. I loved her class. She keeps you thoroughly entertained and teaches you something that boogles your mind.

She is a great professor! She is very clear and tries to help those that don't understand. Although it wasn't a hard class for me, there were a lot of people that struggled. If you aren't very good at grammar/understand it, I wouldn't recommend taking this class as it will be pretty challenging.

I took her for argumentative writing and she is an absolutely phenomonal teacher. It was a small class, was usually an semi-open discussion, and she provides top notch feedback. Always pushed students to analyze, critique, rebute, and reconsider arguments from every source, even her own or other students.

AMAZING TEACHER! Best english teacher I have had in a very long time. She is funny and keeps the class interesting. Loved going to class and getting all my questions answered. Never made me feel stupid for not understanding something but loved when she would knock down the people who thought that they knew everything :) I'm going to miss this class

I LOVE HER! The class is easy if you are a grammar freak like I am, but if not she is certainly very clear and willing to help. We used the workbook & textbook often and they were both tremendously helpful. The final is optional, the tests are short, & she tells you what will be on them. She makes grammar very interesting. Take her!

I took Owens for the Grammar and Comprehension class. This class was hard, but Owens taught it well. She is interesting and makes things fun. She jokes around with her students and finds fun ways to poke at the grammar mistakes used by the masses. She is definitely a teacher worth taking. She is my favorite UCF teacher thus far.

Owens is a cool teacher. Attendance is required...but you have assignments due so you don't feel like you're wasting your time. She's pretty laid back and lets you walk in late without a word. Not an easy A, but she really wants you to do well, and will work with you to get better. She lets you choose your paper topics from a wider range than most.
