A fun class. Dr. Elliott is knowledgeable in what she teaches. The best part of this course are the tutorials: You get to do fun activities. Journals take effort but they are worth it. To do well you have to really read all the materials and view the DVDs. Guest speakers are inspirational and takes the class to a higher level. Great class and prof!

AWESOME! This class is amazing. Extremely recommended. It gives a new perspective on CJS in a way you can actually learn and reflect on. It is not a class where you have to read and memorize but learning through interaction. And if your shy, dont be! Melissa (TA) is extremely approachable and creates a welcoming environment :)

Liz is the best prof I've had!No notes, just attend class. She's really interesting and doesn't lecture for 3 hours like most profs do. Participation is key, but just being in class helps boost your mark a lot

Best prof I ever had, class is pretty easy, you just need to show up and write journals. There is not text book, you get to watch DVD's. Liz is really helpful, she has some good stories and keep the topics covered interesting. Good times :)

As always, Liz is very knowledgeable about her subject and wants her students to succeed. Alot of RJ leaked into this course (although that isn't necessarily a bad thing).

Don't take it by dist ed. If you don't know how to write journals, you will have a problem. There are no guidelines to begin with and the TA doesn't help much in that area. They expect you to read 3 x 20pg articles and 3 ch. per week and integrate them into 3 pages while incorporating personal experience...most useless class I ever took.

I took this class by distance ed so I didn't get to meet the prof..but overall it was quite easy. The journal expectations were not clearly illustrated but it was ok. It was a bit time consuming thinking about your own, personal experience with restorative justice.

Wow, I really can't believe that students would give Liz a bad rating. I have learned alot from the classes and I think that she is very open to other ideas (even if they are opposite to her own). In my opinion, she is very knowledgable and the work she does (outside of Uni!) is to be commended.

Course was extremely easy. I didn't enjoy writing the weekly journals though because I was running out of things to say the last couple of weeks. Course material is as left wing as you can get. If you don't lean left prepare to be frustrated at the readings.

Liz is is a naive fool. Restorative justice is BS, and she's been sucked in by it. People like her result in our revolving crimincal justice system. She's close minded to anything else, and very arrogant in her views.

Good class, very little workload. Tutorials are easy, and the final quiz was unbelievably easy!! The class is quite left-leaning, but cynicism and doubts are accepted.
