Evidently, the EMBA buddy down there commented about 10 times lowering this guys rating. He is truly a great professor, and I learned the most from him throughout the MFIN program. He even won professor of the year for our class!

Super great professor! One of the best in the School of Business. Don't listen to the MBAs, they just don't know how to work...

By far THE best prof I have ever had since attending Queen's Commerce. The material is hard but he makes it extremely understandable and easy to get a good mark in. I highly recommend.

Everyone gives this guy a hard time because the content is hard and he doesn't spoon feed the material. He covers way more stuff than he has time to explain in detail but is always willing to talk outside of class. A great guy, looking to have a great time. Exams are a piece of cake, almost the exact same as his practice problems and assignments

This course might be interesting if you have a good basic knowledge in trading. The script is simply very bad - there are some charts and no explanations. The content of the course is very hard, the exams are, too. I think Louis gives his best in order to motivate students but the material is inacceptable. :(

Unlike other finance courses where profs teach repetitive stuff, I find this course material very new and exciting. Prof. Gagnon pushes you to really do the work and understand the fundamentals behind the problems and explain why it is relevant. Excellent course for undergraduate students and very rewarding.

I don't understand what is with all the EMBA and MBA students. Professor Gagnon is an excellent prof. He doesn't baby the students and ask for their best. What he teaches is hard, but you just have to work at it. He is extremely helpful and is willing to provide extra guidance in order for the student to be successful.

I noticed all these posts stating that this Professor was one of the worst Professors they have for the EMBA. I can't speak to his ability to teach EMBA, but without a doubt he was an exceptional teacher in Comm 321. He presented the information clearly, available for help, he knew his stuff (and passionate about it), and was a nice guy.

A little balance is needed here. It is not all that bad. Louis is a very competant instructor. His willingness to bring clarity to key learning concepts was virtually non-existent so a coaching opportunity definetly exists. He may think EMBA students get preferential treatment and he intends to ensure this doesn't happen. Overall a C-

In business, you are sometimes judged on your weakest links. This is the worst weakest link in the Queen's EMBA. He is even advertised as faculty in the Cornell-Queen's EMBA! Shame on Queen's!
