Recitation should help with things you learn in lecture and the textbook but it was seriously like a different course. Pay attention for the quizzes, but read the book and lecture notes for exams.

DO NOT RELY ON HIM TO TEACH YOU THE MATERIAL. he will just confuse you more. DO THE DRILLS and study off of that for the quizzes if you want to succeed. Only use him as a last minute resource if your really confused other wise just use the other TA's, office hours, learning centers etc..

I took him in the summer the worse decision of my life!! Class grades were purely based on 5 exams (1 exam each week). If you could read the book and do all the homework problems he assigned on your own may be that will help but I didn't find homework problems helpful at all. He gives intensive notes so take them!!

Seriously, I don't get why people don't like him. He's REALLY helpful, if you do your half he'll do his. He's very smart and incredibly organized, his handwriting is incredible o.o His quizzes are TOUGH, so don't underestimate though, and don't knock this guy till you try him. If you care, he'll know and help, if not, he'll just take you as a #.

avoid him, especially for pchem. it seems like he doesn't actually understand what he does himself. just what he may have read in the text book.

Was an extremely helpful teacher, surprised he has such a low rating. Doesn't do much teaching because that is done in lecture. As long as you have questions he's extremely helpful and had us well prepared for all quizzes/exams because he clearly knew the material and was able to teach by going through problems on the board.

If you ask questions he will help answer them. But sometimes he takes too long and goes in the most roundabout way to answer it, so eventually u just stop paying attn. He grades quizes fairly. ok recitation teacher.

Comment:
His bizarre mannerisms are extremely annoying, and he is disorganized. He seems to just throw a ton of equations on the board and it's difficult to make sense of them. However, his tests were reasonable and he graded fairly with a nice curve.

Comment:
He really is disorganized. The purpose of recitation is to help the students by answering questions. He will confuse you beyond belief. He will use little sections of the board to do a multiple step problem. Instead of writing nicely from top of board to the bottom he writes all over the place. WORST CHEMISTRY TA at Rutgers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Just come to class with questions although he does a good job explaining the material, he stands there with nothing until someone asks him to do a question. Pretty helpful if you want the help. Grades fairly on the quizes and genuinely wants everyone to get the best grade possible. JUST COME WITH QUESTIONS PEOPLE MAKE THE MOST OF THE CLASS PLEASE!

He tries helping, but confuses you more by using different variables than what the text uses. If no one has a question, he really has no idea what to do, just stands there smiling. He's a tough grader, haven't gotten a good quiz grade, even with lots of studying.

Why does everyone hate Lou petrone? Maybe he sucks as an orgo teacher, but as a TA for my Gen Chem class, he's very helpful and understanding. He also grades with partial credit on quizzes.

Genuinely cares about his students and will go out of his way to help you... but it seems like he just has so much information that he doesn't really know how to get his points across. Very math heavy, I just kind of wish he would prepare students for those execution style exams.

He cares about his students, but he's really a horrible grader and teacher, try to avoid having him in recitation. He makes the exams, and they're extremely difficult no matter how you study, and I studied about 8 hours per quiz, and still didn't get an A on any of them. There's a curve, but it only helps those who are failing. DONT TAKE HIM

Good teacher, bad professor. He's clear in his explanations of things but his 10-choice question exams and tough grading don't help. Obessive organization and methodology to his actions interesting, almost fun to see.

If you want an idea of what hell is like, take ANY class with this guy. Exams are too difficult, he's all over the place in lectures...it's just bad. DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASS WITH THIS GUY, ESPECIALLY PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY!
