Obviously a very intelligent man. Classes are interesting and he is knowledgeable about topics he presents... Readings are boring and he isn't the clearest of markers. But if you put in a lot of effort, it will show in your grades

I've taken many classes with this professor and hes the best guy ever. I cannot understand people who say his classes were boring and whatever else. Understanding, kind, fair marker. The amount of effort you put in truly shows in your grade. consistent marker, no surprises.

Don't listen to the complain-y 202 people! That course is actually really good and interesting, so is 301 and 318. The special topics with Lowell are fantastic. He knows his stuff and he has so much life experience in the PACS area. I found him very open minded and accommodating. Just remember, PACS isn't a bird program!

Amazing prof, great guy in general! Everyone in PACS loves Lowell so don't be put off by complaints from 202 students. That class isn't the best example of Lowell as there are usually about 125 in that class. Take a 300 level & see for yourself. Don't ever expect an extention for assignments though! Fair, helpful, kind and listens to students ideas

When asked about how the marks were broken down for the midterm, the marker said "marking is not a science but an art" and changed the subject. This tells me he should not be employed. what a train wreck. If the grading scheme is not able to be explained how are students to know what they are doing? Marking needs to be broken down. what a fool.

Mr Ewert is a nice guy but the class needs some major changes. Speaking with everyone else they all agree that the marking scheme is whack and it takes much too long for such a small class. His marker never even came to class so has no right to be marking our answers. They are both hard to deal with and unwilling to discuss grades. Stay away.

I found the class to be overdone. The knowledge that was taught in class was very little but "pop" assignments forced me to go. We are Restructuring the class to solve some of these concerns for the next term.

65 minutes to write 4 essays for the midterm (20%)and NOT marked by professor but by his buddy who had never stepped in the class. Same for the final, only it was worth 40%... Most difficult marking at Waterloo! Too bad you didn't read this earlier, eh?

i think ewert himself wrote that "good" review because his class is totally not like that. So many people fell asleep in class, everyone compared it to a boring highschool assembly and his organization is totally off. Exams, midterms and final paper are all marked by a friend of his.. not even a TA. HORRIBLE PROF! STAY AWAY!

A very interesting course. While a bit dry, full of useful information applicable to real life, which is more than I can say for many of my other courses.
