He overlaps some material from Cultural Anthropology but in greater detail. If you go to class and take good notes you'll do fine in his class. He brings a lot of humour to the class room. He is always willing to help his students just have to go see him in his office. Only thing to watch out for is; the final exam last year was tricky and hard.

Really enjoyed his class. Notes were clear. Very reasonable expectations. Gave good feedback on papers. Tests were fair and easy if you studied, attended class and read given material. He is really funny and doesn't take everything to seriously. If you have the opportunity to have him as a teacher, take it.

Go to class so you save time and effort reading the readings! He basically just goes over the things he'll test you on. The only issue I have with him is how horribly hard and unexpected his final exam was. Other than that, he's a good, interesting, humourous prof.

i took 18 credit hrs of anthropology with him and he is by far the best, u just gotta attend class and youll do good. lectures eliminate text book reading cuz he discuss the readings in class, very fair marking too!

Prof. Stymeist is one of a kind, don't miss an opportunity to take a course with him! His classes are very casual, and slow pace (in a good way). You leave his class every time having learned something valuable that you will remember for a long time and not forget after the final exam is over.

In the 2 years of University, Stymeist is the best prof yet.Really enjoyed his class.He is an old fashion kind of guy with a dry sense of humor, however very nice and an intelligent man.He really appreciates when you come to class.He's a fair marker and if you have trouble writing or studying he is more than willing to help you.Highly recommended!

He repeats himself excessively. He seems disinterested in teaching and the lectures. It was like torture sometimes to attend his classes, but his grading was fair and I did learn a little bit though if he spent less time repeating himself the course may have been much more productive.

FANTASTIC! The best prof I've ever had! He's hilarious and makes class super interesting by incorporating funny stories and jokes into his lectures. "When you're playing Monopoly try to start a communist revolution. People don't like that you know." - Stymeist. People who don't even belong to the class came in just to listen in on his lectures.

Best professor I had all year! Dry sense of humor but really funny! Really appreciates when you come to class (says it everytime). Also test are fair, not to hard nor easy but if you show up to class you should do fine. Over all... Hes a GREAT PROF! Highly recommended.
