THIS CLASS WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. Her teaching style is chaotic (the syllabus changes almost every week), but she genuinely cares about you as a person and teaches how to be a leader and a good person in general. Also, she emphasizes real-world interactions and getting you out of the college bubble. Every AC student should take her at some point.

Professor Knoles is a doll! She is also a really good writer. It was always hard to know what we were doing for homework and stuff but she was always happy to clarify. She talked about doing a lot of stuff that we never actually did. She brings her dog to class and it is adorable. Would recommend taking her if you get the chance.

Class was tough, you're always out of your comfort zone but that's kind of the point. You get stuff done in her class and she doesn't take any flack. Made her my advisor after this class because she's awesome.

For my speech class, she was an amazing person to be with! She was confusing sometimes, but happy to clarify, if you asked for it. She's there for you if you ask for it and brought her dog to class! I'm not sure what her regular requirements for other classes were (this was a speech class), but she was big on participation & experiencing new stuff.

She's a great woman, she's also very busy though so assignments are very scattered and half of them we talk about but dont actually end up doing. She's a doll. She brings her dog to class too and it sits in a chair. It's priceless.

Professor Knoles is the greatest English teacher I have ever had. She genuinely cares about her students and that they learn, and she makes her class interesting (especially for an 8:30) I can already see huge improvements in my writing skills. Definitely take her first semester freshman year if you can, it will help you greatly in other classes.

Lit Survey III - Tons and tons of reading for this course. Some is very interesting, some is incredibly bland. Prof. Knoles is very smart, but does not often make it clear what she wants from her students. You have do to nightly logs on readings (some of which are very lengthy) and 4 papers. A little crazy, but in the good way. Really enthusiatic about her subject, wants everyone else to understand, too. Papers are informal, but you have dissect the literature to the last piece to get a good grade. Lots of reading and 3-5 paragraph "logs" due for every class. A really interesting experience overall.

Great teacher. She really loves teaching and wants you to learn. If you are a hardworker, you will do really well. On papers she wants you not to prove a thesis but rather explore all possible reasonings for the topic of choice, which is how it should be.
