Vern entertaining lectures. =) Sometimes test questions were iffy...but overall, I'm happy with with Moretto. He's willing to answer questions after lectures.

Lots of jokes. Didn't have much material to cover, so he took his time. Used the front row in his jokes a lot, which may cause some objections. Very easy tests. Generally fun.

Funny guy, but not the greatest at explaining things. I started skipping lecture, but wish I hadn't because a lot of his notes were not in the book, and he uses different sign conventions and modified versions of formulas that are all not in the book. Review notes, do old midterms, go to GSI office hours. He also picks on the front row a lot.

Interesting, eccentric, tells jokes. However, went off into digressions. Still, explained techniques and concepts to us. Actually cared for comprehension when he made sure we got the point of the material. Yeah, dragged the material out to death. Barely used book. You must catch what he says (little boardwork). Still, better than Douskey.

Douskey can cover his lectures in 10 minutes, but he's way more interesting. But he picks on students and is kinda ****. If you get your hands on any of his past tests, then you basically have the test he's planning to give you. If he assigns any homework, the answers are in your notes.

Has a very unique teaching style. Writes a little on the board then talks to you the whole time. It's engaging but sometimes hard to follow. Most of the material he covers, especially at the end of the semester, is barely covered in the book, so you HAVE to go to lecture and take notes. To prepare for tests, just study his lectures and read Harris.

He was unclear during lectures and tries to make clever metaphors that just embarrass and humiliate those he chooses for examples during his lecture. He is the most disrespectful and arrogant teacher I have come across at Cal. Don't take him if you don't have to. Nevertheless, he was better that the first professor we had who had a heavieraccent

Really awesome prof. I liked going to class bc he kept it interesting. Usually class was packed, and late comers get to sit in the front CHAIR w/ no desk, on the floor.. etc.Clear lecturer.Sense of humor. Might put you on the spot though! So be prepared to answer questions. Tests were hard but fair. Some questions on the examS are from hwk&lecture!

He's the most clear professor with the most fair test questions I've yet to encounter. As extremely dynamic, entertaining and funny professor, those near to the front row should be cautious when he begins to explain kinetics. Highly recommended!

He was much better than the other two who taught, Douskey and Henderson. He is extremely entertaining, and his material isn't too difficult. He's extremely helpful during office hours and gives hints to the questions that will be on the test. Very funny, and nice guy- asks that his students call him Luciano.

Great professor, cool guy, a little scary first when he jumps in front of you and stares at you while asking you questions. He's really fair, all of the test problems are well taught in the class and students are well prepared for it. If you show up and pay attention to his lectures, he really saves you a lot of reading from the textbook.

He has very outdated methods of teaching, even all the GSI's agreed, definitely not on top of the new (easier) ways on solving acidemitry. His test was extremely fair, and almost exactly like the worksheet he gave us at beginning of the semester. Not very helpful, has an very hard time understanding the questions you ask.

He's a hilarious guy with an awesome Italian accent. For us, he had us learn a different more mathematical method for equilibrium than we had all learned in HS so you'll want to pay close attention and PRACTICE his method as much as you can. Had a couple of funky test questions but for the most part, he's completely fair. Awesome prof!

don't know if it was just his section (acids and bases) of the class or him, but i thought that out of the three professors, he explained his material the best. he did deviate from the book and expected students to use his methods and equations on the test but by going to class and paying attention you can learn a lot and do well on the exams.

Intimidating at first, but he gets a little more endearing as his segment goes on. Teaches mainly on the blackboard, does a lot of derivations: pay attention or you might get lost! Midterm was fair and I seem to have a good understanding of the material in the aftermath of his segment. And for some reason, he looks a lot younger than he really is.

Great professor who explains the material really well and will help you if needed. Make sure you pay attention to his instructions for the exams as he will probably not put them on the exam on purpose and this could screw you over.

He's a fun teacher, but he gets easily sidetracked with silly pointless analogies. His midterm and portion of the final was tough, but if you studied (I didn't...) you can manage a good grade.

great the book beforehand, otherwise you might get lost in the material. he's a great lecturer, very funny, and is almost too smart for his material. he shows shortcuts and different, more efficent methods for the same material. but, this won't help at all if you don't know what he's talking about.
