Dr. Polly was a magnificent teacher and am greatly saddened to learn that he has passed away. He always brought an enormous amount of caring, energy and enthusiasm to the classroom. In my book, Dr. Polly was one of the five best and most significant teachers I ever had the pleasure to know and from which to learn.

Very knowledgeable and loves his work. In all honesty he is very opinionated and biased. Sad but true he has his favorites. If you need help go to someone else b/c he's just not good at helping. Class is interesting and engaging but success is arbitrary. I liked him but he's just not fair.

I guess I was spoiled by my other French teachers, but I didn't get along with Dr. Polly at all. He did know what he was talking about, but he is very opiniated, and if you disagree it doesn't make him happy. His tests were difficult and some of the questoins were a bit controversial in our class.

I had an awesome high school french teacher so he couldn't quite live up to her, but he's okay, I studied hard for every test and could never get higher than a B. That had never happened to me in French before. He's an okay guy though.

he is a crabby old man. if you don't kiss his ass then he won't like you and you won't get a good grade in his class. just make sure you go b/c he gives pop quizes that will kill your grade. and if you don't know your stuff he will pick on you

Prof. Polly is a very good teacher. I have learned more from him in one semsester than in years from other teachers. His oral quizzing is extremely helpful in the long run and strengthens students'confidence in speaking.
