Excellent. I will miss her a lot. She's one of the few teachers who would take the content out of the classroom for a second and remind us that we're learning this to help people. I was going through some of the problems similar to the course and her sensitivity encouraged me to try my best. I wish her the best :)

I thought she was excellent. I wonder how far she might had taken the class with her seemingly inexhaustible knowledge and insight from years of real-life experience in the field of child maladjustment, if the department allowed her to do so or if students, including myself, were more engaged in the class asking the right questions.

Makes an interesting class boring. Her heart isn't really into teaching. She's impossible to get a response from and it takes FOREVER to get any grade back. Has alot of excuses as to why papers aren't graded. I would not recommend her to anyone intersted in learning.

Dr. Heiden is one of the most down to earth teachers i've had in a long time at San Jose State. She can be tough at grading but it honestly depends on the how much work the student is willing to put it in. I've taken both her classes and honestly wish that she teaches more than two. She is a valuable asset to San Jose Psych Dept!

This professor is one of the worst I've had at SJSU. She is unresponsive, puts very little work into her teaching, and managed to make a fascinating subject into a total slog. It is impossible to get feedback on your work, and she has an endless list of excuses for why she isn't doing her job.

She was the best teacher I have ever had! All tests and quizzes are open book and taken online. Used the textbook a lot for them. She was so helpful and posts all power points online. She really wants you to understand and enjoy the material. Take her if you can!!

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!quiz every week and she lectures AFTER the quiz which is not helpful. She seems unorganized, and has a hard time working D2L.class is boring and a waste of time. you learn only from the textbook with no help really from her. only time you need to attend is when she shows videos.this class could have helped me but it did not

She posts slides on D2L for each lecture. You have to take a 20 point quiz on each chapter on D2L(~1/week) BEFORE she lectures on it and all of the 3 midterms and final exam are also taken at home on D2L. YOU NEED THE BOOK! She's really nice and knowledgeable, but sometimes seems a bit scattered. I definitely recommend this class and professor.

This online class is completely useless. The professor obviously doesn't care about her job or students. Material is copied straight of the book. Professor is absent: no email responses, no grades, no comments. Most of the time we are left stranded and clueless, which is more stressful than actually having work to do. Waste of time & money!

Prof Heiden knows what she is doing. She knows her area very well and she really wants students to understand it and to be able to apply their knowledge in real settings! Although she is a good teacher and very helpful the tests are realllly hard!! Busted my butt for an A-

I took Dr. Heiden's Psych 110 class on line and had no problems. Fair amount of work, but straight-forward if you are paying attention. I found her to be very helpful and clear with her expectations. Learned a lot.

I was really excited to take this class but wish I wouldn't have taken it with her because 1)I didn't learn anything more than what I would have learned by reading the book 2) the website froze on me during a quiz, I tried to contact her about it and trying to get ahold of her is like pulling teeth! she never put up grades until AFTER FINALS!

All tests online but here is the thing...they are timed and she LECTURES on the material AFTER she tests/quizzes you on it please read that again if it didnt sink in.. You are basically being graded on what you teach yourself i.e test on ch.4 sunday lecture on ch.4 monday kapeesh.. going to class is pointless. QUizzes and tests are WEEKLY

She is a good teacher. She knows the material well and wants students to succeed in this field. She has mentioned that we should learn the material not just for the exam but to apply it later. You do have a lot of reading to do but worth it. She gives extra credit opportunities, drops 2 lowest quizzes and curves the exams. What more can you ask for?

This is the worst course I have every taken, including those through community college. The course was taught online and was completely disorganized. She basically ignored the class (including questions, concerns, emails and grading assignments) the entire semester. Expect to hear a sob story at some point for why she isn't doing her job.

CHILD PSYCHOPATHOLOGY-This class is not that difficult if effort is put into it. I took this online during the summer and test questions were right out of the book and from the book website. There is a lot of writing and reading however so if you write well and keep up with the reading you should be fine. Overall, a very interesting class!!

I had Prof. Heiden over the Spring of 2008 - online class. She keeps you on your toes and downloads a ton of exercise every week. She clearly expects you to KNOW your stuff. I'd strongly suggest the in-class rather than online sections because this class is a LOT of work and you get more feedback and learn better in an in-class environment.

She's the WORST teacher I've ever had!! I DO NOT recommend her at all. I took the class online and all the material was from the book. No recorded lectures. She requires so much from her students and doesn't even give grades on assignments until weeks/months after they've been assigned. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASSES WITH HER!!

I took this class online and although she was MIA basically the whole class, she had surgery so I don't hold it against her. We really didnt get most of our grades till the end, but if you read the chapters, you should do well on the tests. The homework is easy. She is a really nice teacher.
