Easy class to pass. Read the book and you will be fine. Grading is easy, she drops one of four tests and only has small papers. Lectures are extremely difficult to sit through, reads from slides and focuses mainly on Freud. She constantly needs to be reassured that people are liking and paying attention to her lecture.

Very nice professor but does not provide a study guide for tests. Tests are challenging but if you read the book, you'll be fine for most of the test. Provides a few extra credit assignments and papers are easy.

Very fair grader and test-giver. Approachable, seems to enjoy her job. However not the best lecturer: can give unclear explanations, get vague, offtrack, and sometimes is downright incorrect. (when compared to textbook) Also can be quite biased-- spends more time on Freudian/psychodynamic and doesn't give equal time to other theories.

she is the most understanding and nicest teacher i've ever had in sjsu. shes very approachable for help. very easy grader. multiple choice exams are generally based on the text. i must say this again. she is one of the best... especially if you really want to get to know the psychology field better.. she is the person to talk to.

Comment:
Lectures are pointless, she goes off topic continously and then in the last 10 minutes of class she throws tons of info at you. The info is general and she merely recites the online notes. The mutiple choice exams are hard b/c the study guide is misleading but the essay questions are given beforehand which is a plus.

Absolutly wonderful professor with a heart of gold. Completly relates to students and does everything to help you succeed. Two in class exams, one paper, and a take home exam. She also gives extra credit.

It was years ago that I was in her class, but I felt that she expected too much, long papers, and absolutely no compassion for her students (extension on a paper when it's due the same week as 4 others? She was outright rude). I attended every day and still felt I had learned very little.

Tests are real easy if you read the book. THe lectures are not on the tests and she is a fair grader. If you are looking for a fairly easy class this is the one

Boring course with too much reading or too much lecture, depending on if you go to class or not. Just a lot of memorization and regurgitation. Her anecdotes about famous psychologists were amusing though.

I was not too responsible last year when I took her class. I would say that I only attended about 4 times (final included). If you can use her awsome website and work well on your own, you can do well in her class without much stress. She is a cool lady.

Talks more about her dogs, her dysfunctional family, and her 'partner' than she does the content of the class. Only sometimes does it relate to the content; quite neurotic (self-admission).

Very organized, nice, and helpful professor. Her web site really helps. The tests are not so bad if you go to class, pay attention, read your book, you know, do the things that students are supposed to do. Her lectures are great! I really like her.

DO NOT take this teacher for anything you want to learn. She is nice and lectures straight from slides, but tests are not off lectures and emphasize weird parts from the reading.
