Not terribly difficult. Read the text and study the vocab words to easily get good grades on the weekly quizzes. Didn't care much for the readings. Papers on those were manageable. Get the major paper done as early as possible. Group critiques on papers. Professor calls on students. She's... interesting, but didn't mind her class for the semester.

Pretty easy class I would say, dont get scared about the 20 page essay. I freaked out and it ended up being a piece of cake. Pretty chill class. Also, you do the same exact stuff in 305 so I plan to take her for that.

Professor Renner required one paper --- that's right --- only one. It is a long paper though 20-25 pages. The best part of this "only one paper" is that you work on it all semester and it is graded continually -- so lot's of feedback if you want it. There is a small vocab test once a week and extra credit is offered if you need it.

I have to admit, I was intimidated by Professor Renner's reviews before I took her class. Then I was astonished that she has as many bad reviews as the ones listed below. To save you from intimidation and that gulp of fear you may be feeling after reading these reviews, I want you to know she is a great professor and there is no need to worry.

Ok professor but not great. Not a hard grader, but the class definitely isn't an easy A. You must go to office hours if you want at least an A-. We did easy vocab quizzes once a week and only two essays. However one of the essays was extremely long and pointless (25 pages of dialogue between debating characters). She goes off topic a lot.

Dont take this class. She assigns long readings which she hardly understands, and wants mostly fluff writing. The 25 page paper is made up of tangents, and you MUST participate and go to class. End of semester portfolio she lets you edit old papers/quizzes for regrading, though. Also she doesn't use blackboard so you never know your grade.

She definitely needs to be evaluated. She is an arrogant, conniving and self absorbed professor who mainly teaches vocabulary rather then rhetorical writing. Also if you are not Caucasian she will make sly comments toward minorities that are degrading. With that being said I advise you to not take her class, and crash another class.

If you do your work at a high school level, you will do well in this class. However, you have to be able to hide your bias on controversial issues or your grade will plummet. She has very specific viewpoints and is not clear. There's weekly vocab & a 25 pg paper for the final 2 months of class but it's basically the only real paper you do all year.

You will love her or hate her. It is not hard to do well if you participate and listen. Each week you take a vocab quiz, that is easy if you pay attention to her review. You write 3 essays; 1 is 25 pages. You can revise. She is pretty wishy-washy on what she expects- UNLESS you take advantage of office hours. Only wants papers with her views.

She is tough on grading. You are expected to read a chapter on vocabulary, pretty long, and get quizzed weekly. She assigned confusing essays to read, in which she does not clarify the essays for overall understanding. She sits on a high chair the entire class time with a designer purse that she will not put down. She needs to be re evaluated.

The teacher ask to write too many papers and long essays, the way she want not the way you see yourself writing about and good about it. she has a quiz every class and she doesn't care wither the class know the martials or not.

The class was pretty easy to pass. She assigns a lot of material but if you actually give an effort and complete the material before the day that it's due, you'll do fine. I'll iterate it again, she's an easy grader as long as you give an effort.

This professor needs to be evaluated. The standards of SDSU are not met with this professor. The class goes off topic and on a tangent, nothing to do but be on your phone scheduling or doing other school work( which would be fair because she is so off topic and not focused on class) Class discussion is not relevant. There needs to be 30pts ExtraCrd

Besides all the useless busy work and making you redo every assignment, never telling you your grade she doesnt care about anyone but herself. She set up office hours the last week and told students to come at that time. there was a group of students waiting for her when we get an email saying traffic was bad so she decided to just go back home.

Don't expect to learn much, I can say this was the most useless class I've ever taken at SDSU. Renner is... well WEIRD. She says the most awkward and inappropriate things it makes the whole class just go what? The class itself drags and the material isn't interesting. If you can find a better prof, do it

AVOID THIS CLASS LIKE THE PLAGUE. DO NOT TAKE IT. she talks endlessly, has extremely vague directions and requirements, class attendance counts, and there's practically a quiz or essay due every week. huge 20 page paper due at the end that isn't even relevant. this class is the definition of POINTLESS BUSY WORK.
