Personally, This was the class I dread going to for its boredom. The first day of class is what u get all semester...Read a 900 page textbook for tests and a 500 page one. only advantage is there is a good curve..so its meant to be hard. Easy grader when it comes to essays and all else. I just wudn't recomend unless u hava passion for wastin time

I didnt like him at first when i took him as a freshman but after taking mass media even though we didnt learn much and he talked 75% of the class he has got to be one of the kindest people ive ever met. hes truely into what he does and whoever wants to talk negatively about someone as nice as him then thats pretty sad you feel that way

To everyone who is ripping on the guy... you know, he TELLS you in the first day of class that if you want to learn about Mass Media, drop it and take it with another teacher. It's not like you're forced to go. Anyway, I like the guy, and am definitely going to take his "History of Rock N' Roll" course! He's cool and VERY knowledgeable.

This man is out of his mind. Took EG55 as a filler class to stay full time, and what a waste of time it was. rambles on and on and on and on about nothing. again, turned mass media into history of rock and roll. assignments had nothing to do with mass media. apparently attendance didn't matter, cause the people who missed 93 classes still passed.

personally i wasnt his biggest fan. hes not a good teacher. avoid him at all costs. i go to class to learn not to waste an hr and 15 minutes of my life. i found many of his 'discussions' very irrelevant to english and i wouldnt recommend this man to other students willing to learn. his class was a TOTAL waste of my time.

He's a horrible teacher, has absolutley no lesson plan. As he put it he just "plays whatever he feels like." When it came to our midterm he even admitted that he didn't get to cover everything on the because he has no plan! He goes off on random tangents and talks about his band and his sons band all the time! Easy grader, got an A but I wouldn't take another class of his.

dean is pretty cool. he gives these tedious reading assignments that no one reads and then he puts all of the material on the midterm and final. cool thing was is that he gave a huge curve for us. i got a 58 and it turned into a 74. sounds good to me. he always throws rock n roll in every topic he talks about, but he's good. easy grader too!

Professor is a nice guy. If you want an A or B def take him. All you do is listen to music and listen to him talk. The assignments are so easy. Midterm was hard I didny study and got a C. the final is open book a little hard. He give a book report and you have a presentation 3-4 minutes. If you need to learn about Mass Media dont take him.

Prof is a very nice guy and very knowledgeable about music. However he turned mass media into rock history. The whole class is him standing and playing his old records and cds. If your overwhelmed and looking for a fluff class then take it. But if you are a serious journalism student you will learn absoutely nothing about media. Waste of time.

Prof. Dean knows what he is talking about. The only problem is that Rock History is only one semester long. He gives fun assignments and Grades on his classic "Santa Claus Curve”. We had a multiple choice midterm and a short answer final. He makes you glad that you didn't take the Baroque Era type classes that you might have been stuck in.
