I had Dr Browne in the 80s and he is the only professor I remember vividly. You had to be ready for his class but he made you think critically every day. He didn't suffer fools and could smell someone trying to BS his way through a discussion a mile away. By far and away the most rewarding class I have ever taken.

Dropped this man's class after a week. He literally made me cry the first week of school. He sends you weird emails and expects you to study them. 0/10 do not recommend. Also he wrote the textbook and did not even use it. He also gives ACT level English quizzes on vocab terms from his emails.

There are so many things I loved about this professor. He truly cares about his students and wants you to succeed. He also has to be the most intelligent man I have ever met. The class was tough and I was a nervous wreck through all of it, but I am so glad I took it with Browne. Many people warned against him, but he was hands down my favorite.

Having Dr. Browne was very difficult and he pushed me to my limits some days where I just wanted to walk out. He was an exceptional professor though, and wanted to get the most out of his students. Yes, he was hard on us, but he did it to mold us into better thinkers.

I took this class in 1993. The class, along with a class I took with Dr. Hoag, developed my critical thinking skills which has benefited me in everything I have done since then. The class was hard, I wasn't mature enough at the time to do the necessary work and I received a D. Even though I got a D, it was the most beneficial class I took at BGSU.

Dr. Browne is a very knowledgeable professor that wants to see you grow. He is there to help you at any time of the day, you just have to ask. He wants to help all his student succeed, but you have to put in the effort. Many people don't like him and I think it is because he makes you think differently than you have been taught before.

If you could only take one class at college, a class with Dr. Browne would be it. You will learn more from him than you will in all of your other classes combined. You will work, and you will work hard. But it will be worth it. If you do, you will reap the benefits from his class throughout your entire personal, academic, and professional life.

I have been out of undergrad 6 years and I still look back on my time in Dr. Browne's class and scoff. I graduated with honors and a 3.8 GPA after re-taking his class for an A. There is nothing clear or helpful about his instruction. Failed a 6-hour final exam and unable to drop the class. Complete waste of time and not smart marketing for BGSU.

Dr. Browne definitely comes off a little strange and challenging. However, if you pay attention to his feedback and participate in class, he's there to help you succeed. You have to earn your grade in his class but he's very fair in his grading. Also, a good teacher. Learned a lot about critical thinking while peers in other classes were lost.

Dr. Browne is probably the best teacher I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. His assignments are challenging but are certainly doable, and getting a good grade isn't too hard if you just put the work in. Dr. Browne is available nearly 24/7 to help you with your assignments as well. The more you put in to his class, the more you'll get out.

I love DB. Great guy; kinda off; super intelligent. He definitely opened my eyes to the world society doesn't want you to see. He truly cares about his students, and I can't say that about too many instructors. This class is difficult, and it definitely helps if you had him for Critical Thinking. Overall, I'd take another class with him any day.

This class isn't for everyone. It's psychologically intimidating, and many people drop out. If you stick with it, and ask DB lots of questions, he will help you and you'll succeed. It gives you skills that are invaluable. Worth every step. Assignments are reading, and "exams" are papers. If you show improvement, your grade will, too.

Dr. Browne is a piece of work, to be put lightly. The class is rigorous and you find yourself nervous and scared before every class with the fear of being called out on your beliefs, your actions, your voice, and grammar. If you are bad at writing papers and have bad grammar, this is not a class for you.

He is a piece of work. If you take one of his classes, be prepared to work harder than you have ever worked before, have everything from the way you look, you're tone of voice, your beliefs, grammar, and then some criticized, and occasionally praised, in front on the entire class. If you make it through his class, you'll feel so accomplished

Dr. Browne is very tough, but he knows what he is talking about and he wants to help you learn it. Grades are based on papers (there are many of them) and participation (both in class and on an online forum). His critical thinking class teaches life skills that will help you in many areas. I highly recommend Dr. Browne.

The guy is seriously full of himself. He breaks his students down and every word that comes out of his mouth is demeaning. DO NOT take any classes with him. Absolutely awful prof, don't waste your time or GPA.

If you don't agree with him, he asks you to leave the class, offering a grade if you promise to not come back. True story, and its happened more than once.
