Comment:
Magda is actually brilliant, probably one of the smartest profs at this school. She's passionate, vibrant, and is always there to help. That being said, she isn't the most clear and her class was her lecturing punctuated with some questions rather than a discussion with everyone involved. She assigns lots of work and reading, but grades fair.

Here is a teacher who wants her students to share her passion and to become better writers. She accomplished both with me. The class I took was a lecture class, but she always welcomed input from her students. There is a lot of reading in this class. You can get away without doing some of it, but don't push the limits if you want a good grade.

Magda is great! It's a lot of work, but you can tell she does more work for the class than she assigns. If you feel really bogged down, she's very receptive and helpful if you actually go talk to her. She also significantly improved my writing style. Take her class!!

She's probably one of my favourite professors that I've had. She makes you write drafts first and then goes over them so that you can get a better grade and improve your writing. She's an engaging lecturer and she really knows her stuff. I adore her.

I LOVE HER. She's incredibly intelligent, very helpful during office hours, very kind, though can be dry in lecture. However, she does have a lot of reading, but most of it comes up in lecture anyways.

Did the two posters take the same class (we know who that might be)? Very helpful professor. Leads great discussions and comments profusely on papers, but her comments are intended to improve your writing. I want her as my thesis advisor

This instructor is ALWAYS prepared. She knows her subject matter from every possible angle. I do believe the word "red" spelled as "read" two posts earlier is an intellectual play on her "own read ideas" being projected upon the corrected paper. Sometimes I found this to be the case but not always. Overall, very cool professor!

Comment:
I really enjoyed this class and my writing improved greatly. I have to disagree with the previous poster (who misspelled 'red') and say that her comments were on the format, clarity, and factual support of the writing and NOT on one's position. I found her to be an open and extremely intelligent professor.

Inflexible taskmaster. Unless you WRITE exactly as this Professor THINKS; there will be read ink all over your paper. Be prepared to reference every single origional idea that comes out of your head, including the words "the" and "and". She is very intelligent, but unless you are a mirror of her own thoughts, she will not hear you.

Comment:
Magda Teter is worthless as a professor. She is inflexible about assignments, set in her ways with respect to style, incapable of grading papers which are critical of her own ideas fairly and the sort of discussion leader who prefers that her students bleed emotion as a substitute for ideas. Worthless class, and worthless professor.

I love her as a professor. She can occasionally be a bit boring as a lecturer, but she's clearly extremely bright, and she leads very interesting discussions. An awful lot of reading though...

Amazing profesor. Always available. Always supportive. Very quick at grading things fairly (even though her exams she's somewhat harsh on). Very interesting lecturer. Never a boring moment in her class. I [heart] Magda!

Fantastic teacher who conveys a tremendous amount of information well. If you put in the time, she's quite easy; if you don't work then you might be overwhelmed. She is very accessible and truly does care about the student--her best quality.

honestly one of the best teachers I have ever had. But I liked the subject material, of which you read a whole lot. Don't expect to slack in any of her classes. She's extremely helpful and understanding, an engaging lecturer who encourages participation
