It is tough to keep up with her in lectures but her notes are detailed enough that you do not need the textbook. Just memorize her notes (which is a lot of material) and you will get a decent mark on her section. Do her practice questions and you might see some of them in the final or midterm. Spend time memorizing. Cmmb 411 is all memorizing.

I strongly believe people do poorly in her section because they don't give themselves enough time to study for it. It is absolutely imperative you manage your time for this entire class because there is a lot of material; and ESPECIALLY if you're also taking BCHEM 443. Time management is key. I cannot stress this enough.

Of the three profs, Dr. Kapoor was probably the nicest (which says a lot), but the most demanding. She certainly teaches differently than Dr. Wong, so be prepared for a change of pace. If she posts practice problems, do them. If she gives readings, do them (especially about experiments). Really try to understand her material, and you will do fine.

I think she gets a worse rep than she deserves. I agree that notes could use better organization, but they do make sense and concepts aren't particularly hard to understand. You definitely have to give yourself time to go through them, though. Memorize notes and DO THE PRACTICE QUESTIONS SHE GIVES OUT. She pulls questions from it for the exam.

Notes are unorganized and hard to follow. She has very poor communication skills, she often did not finish her thoughts/sentences and would just move on to the next topic. Really hard to follow her in class as she was all over the place. No USRI done for her section, so I doubt anything will change. Horrible course.

Her voice makes you want to fall asleep but her exams are normal in difficulty. Do not ask her questions during class (she does not like that), and don't even bother recording her lectures unless you're suffering from insomnia.

Unfortunately she is without a doubt the worst professor in 411. She is a very nice lady but when it comes to communicating the concepts and what is expected she fails horribly. Her notes have no flow and trying to follow her in class is tediously boring. Her section is survivable but much less "fair" that Dr. Wong's. Know everything.

Meh. She's not bad but her notes could use better organization. If you can sort through it all, they do make sense. While her section is not as time consuming as Dr. Wong's (in terms of learning), I almost found it a bit harder just because her explanations are a bit vague. Know her notes and do the practice questions -- you'll be good.

Material isn't particularly difficult but she has major difficulties at explaining. Apparently she has taught this course for decades yet still has issues organizing the lecture notes. She assigned REQUIRED readings on the last lecture and had a major question on the midterm from the readings which weren't covered in class.

DAMN SEXY!! tests are doeable I found them easier than Dr. wongs by far. people are right memorization is key if you dont it can be very difficult. She even made a star wars quote about how "whats his name and whats his name and how they fight for opposites"! now seriously that is a win in my books

if u take cmmb411...you'll realize her section's the easiest..her part is super easy as long as you memorize (which you'll have to thruout the course if you take cmmb411). everything's from her notes so attending her lectures is not very important. extremely helpful as well and quite funny at times.

She's actually an easy teacher...I'm not sure what people are talking about. If you get past her accent (in other words stop being so ****) she's actually not bad. Her final exam was JUST repeating her notes. Basically an easy test if you know how to study. Just memorize her notes and you are gold

Memorize EVERY single detail in her notes - including salient features of proteins determined from X-ray crystallography. Her exams are straight recall, but are VERY specific. The only "good" thing about her exam is that the class does so bad that it brings down the grading curve

God Awful in 2nd year for me. Material was not always easy to follow and exams were death. Challenging and interesting lectures in 4th year though. Kapoor went to lengths to find current literature to study and discuss in class.
