Comment:
he is REALLY smart and knows what he's talking about - BUT his class has NO syllabus or organization (very frustrating when preparing for a test), if you miss 3 classes you can't make an A, miss 5 can't make a B. about half the time class was about ABSOLUTELY NOTHING & a total waste of time. reading assignments have nothing to do w/ the test

this class helps you learn to think critically about the past and present. There is no regurgitation of fact, but there is a need to have the ability to know and understand it. You get more than a history course out of this class, you slowly transform into a grub worm and burrow into the deepest topsoil you can find. History will not save you no

Dr. Ellis is deeply personally invested in all of his classes, and much more interested in their ethical and philosophical ramifications than in a simple exposition of fact. If you read for background information and go to class prepared to talk about it, it will be a phenomenal experience.

Dr. Ellis is the most amazing man I have ever met. He opened up my worldview beyond belief. If you don't take his class you are missing out on a life changing experience. I want to know this man for the rest of my life. Not only is he wonderful, but so is his family. Take his classes.

Dr. Ellis is one of the most challenging and deep citical thinkers of our time. He is unique within a mostly conservative enviorment. Baylor is very fortunate to have him here. He has inspired my entire perspective of the world.

Not a history class, no matter what the course catalogue says. He's an amazing lecturer but as helpful as a hole in the head.

I went in expecting a history class and got a philosophy class. His teaching assitant answered more of my questions about assignments than he did.Somewhat intimidating! I was so happy to get out of that class. My recommendation is to read, study, and pray
