Professor Selva was amazing! I took her English 300 class online! It was really easy, all you need to do is to just do the work. She is a pretty easy grader. I was surprised at how much I learned taking her online class. She is quick at answering emails and helping in any way that she can. I would recommend this class to anyone!!

Comment:

Professor Selva is by far one of the most intelligent and understanding English professors I have had. She goes above and beyond to ensure her students understand the material and is always open to questions. She is very positive and relates to many of her students. She is a great example of an educator and you will never want to miss any classes.

She is good at giving a lot of information on what your essays need to be and gives example essays. But she basically lectures the whole class and it puts you to sleep. She is very nice and cares about her students but can get off topic or give TMI

Prof. Selva is awesome! Expectations are high b/c she wants you to do your best. BUT she genuinely cares about her students' success! She's approachable, transparent, open minded, understanding & very passionate so class is always engaging. You learn a lot & grow a lot as a writer and person. Read, discuss, & 4 essays. Fair grader. Take her!

She offers really involved and fun class discussion of the literature, which is pretty difficult to understand by yourself sometimes. She has a lot of expertise and shes very passionate about what she does.

Comment:

Took her for summer 2015. The hardest part was finding the articles to write about. Other than that, her grading method was more than fair. Highly recommended for students who passed ENGWR 300 with an A; You'll pass her class with an A if you do all the homework.

Awesome teacher! talks a lot but she's funny so its okay. Usually English classes are a pain for me but she makes hers really simple! She's not tough on attendance and never any pop quizzes on the readings. :) Overall 1010

She's helpful, passionate about literature, clear, and kind. I got As on all of my essays. Have to be honest, towards the end of the class I just brought my own book and read through the lectures. She's not a bad lecturer, but I didn't need them to get an A. Expect to edit other student's essays at some point.

EASY ENGLISH CLASS EVER! I hate writing but this class was really easy and she made it interesting by incorporating a theme. She does tend to ramble on but she is very clear on what she expects from the papers. Took this online and require a 4 papers 5-6 pages, couple of online discussions, and 4 1-2 page papers.

This class was a dual-teaching class with Selva and Lewis. They were a little too into talking to each other than the class and would go off on all these tangents. Good teachers seperately but not so good together. Used the textbook a lot at the beginning then not at all halfway through. Helpful but only when you asked for it.

Took the six week summer course. There were four essays (4-5 pages each), several short assignments (1-2 pages each), and the occasional discussion board. It's important to use your critical thinking skills and elaborate on WHY you feel the way you do about the given topic. I'm an average English student and received an A, you can to!

Professor Selva was very clear and class was rewarding. She sometimes let us work on correcting our essays by working in small groups and getting feedback. That way, your final draft could get a better grade if writing wasn't your strong point. I also liked how friendly she was, and we all had some deep discussions. I recommend her.

I really enjoyed this class! Prof selva is really nice, personable, and gives out great advice on papers during her office hours. And she is not a hard grader. The textbook is a must. She is very open and clear with assignments. I highly recommend her to anyone!

I have mixed feelings about this professor. She was very nice and a times a little goofy (but it is very endearing). My only problem is that she just stood in front of the class and talked and talked. She wasn't very interactive with the students and I wish she would have include discussions or something that would have made it more interesting.
