I have taken 4 classes from Daynes. I think he is wonderful, those who disagree are just upset that he doesnt hide his liberal views. Great professor, kind, fun classes, and dry humor. He is my favorite BYU professor. Take any class you can from Daynes.

Good Professor! Lectures are a little unorganized but he is a great professor for open discussion in upper level classes. Very Easy tests and a down to earth guy. Liberal, but openly admits it and says stuff just to get a rise out of his conservative students. Funny guy though.

This class was great. I didn't attend half the lectures without any penalties. Some people think that the class is hard, but it is really the TA's who grade most of the stuff and they sometimes suck. Daynes is very knowledgeable and an interesting teacher. Highly recommended! You will learn how to be open minded and how to deal with tough issues

This was the most unorganized course i have ever taken in my entrie life. The lecutres are not very good and i left the classroom a lot of the time in a daze wondering what happened. The tests are mostly essay and GO TO THE TA REVIEW SESSIONS or else your screwed.

Awful Class. Professor Daynes is unorganized, ill-prepared, and frustrating. TA's grade everything, and are very strict. Tests are difficult--you are expeceted to write pages about one Power Point slide. You can work your very hardest and still recieve a poor grade. Stear clear.

He's great and funny. He knows his stuff and likes to show its applications in today's world with the New York Times. True, he's a little harder, but you come away knowing the material really well. I really enjoyed the lectures!

I did not like the way Dr. Daynes taught this class at all. He's a nice guy, but seemed totally uninterested in the class. He lectured straight from power point, and it was clear he didn't care too much for the class. His TA did everything. I doubt Dr. Daynes even looked at the tests or papers.

Overall, Dr. Daynes is very friendly and cordial and teaches rather well. But, he would explicitly tout Democrats over Republicans, which I thought was tacky, and made his arguments seem less credible.
