The way this proffesor taught was so motivating and inspirational, if it wasn't for the fact that I was almost done with my degree, I would have changed my major. Of the many proffesors I've had throughout my education, he is one of the few who inspired me to do better.

Marcus is an excellent instructor. He's very interested in what he teaches and appreciates those who pay attention ~ A more than fair grader as well. Highly recommended ~ I had little interest in anthro before, but am quite interested now.

Very awesome teacher. Makes learning interesting and is very passionate about his work and teaching. Very helpful. Class is not easy but it isn't supposed to be, study hard and read the book.

Such a nice teacher & you can tell right away he's very intelligent & loves his subject. He does lecture for a realllly long time...don't take his 3 hour class! His tests were very tough, make sure to read the book before every test. It's hard to take notes in his class because of how much he talks, so just pay close attention!!

i want to be fair but honestly i found this professor awful. he doesnt teacher he just lectures, if you have a question he looks at you like your stupid even if its a great question. He blabs for 3/4s of the semester and then tries to cram in everything. he has ZERO structure and his test are very hard because he doesnt teach with them in mind.

One of the best professors at Merced College! Very passionate about what he teaches and genuinely cares about his students. Exams are not easy, take notes during lectures, go to lab, and read the text book if you want to do well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Favorite Professor! He's very wise and passionate. Text & attendance is mandatory. However, he's very understanding & helpful. He genuinely cares for his students. When I failed a test (which is very out of character), he called to make sure everything was okay. He also calls to tell students if they were in the top 10 highest scores for exams.

Easy class as long as you do the 5 reaction papers (2 pages) and show up to lab you will pass. Plus, he grades on a curve. For the essay questions on the test try to pull examples from lecture and for the multiple choice questions read the textbook.

Great teacher. Anth wasn't even my major and I took almost all of his classes. He explains things very well, he is always willing to help a student whether with detailed e-mails, office hours or in class. He loves what he teaches and that makes the classes even more enjoyable. If you are able to you should take one of his classes.

Lovelovelove him! He's an amazing instructor. Extremely wise and compassionate, always willing to help. He's a teacher who actually cares about his students. He requests phone numbers in the beginning of the semester and will actually call if he's concerned about continued absences or randomly dropping scores, just to make sure everything's okay :)

Professor Arguelles is an awesome professor. He really get's into detail with the stories he has about past excavations and where he's been in the world. If you're really trying to good in his class I suggest you really pay attention to him, read the book although it's very bland and boring, and take LOTS of notes! Be prepared for tests he gives.

He really does smell good! Mr. Arguelles is a wonderful teacher, easily the best I have had at Merced College. He sometimes rants, but his stories do usually have a point. Very friendly and understanding (probably a little too understanding, some students take advantega of his generosity).

Arguelles is a very nice teacher, he is very interesting to listen too and he really does know his stuff. He does smell good, he smells like the Abercrombie and Fitch cologne. He is a great teacher and tries to help out all his students. This class was very interesting.

Mr. Arguelles is the best teacher I have ever had. Not just because of the way that he teaches in class, but because he really, genuinely cares about his students. If you are an anthro major then he is even more helpful. He smells good too!
