Comment:

I feel outnumbered because I can see that a lot of students enjoyed Marcus' class, but I was unenthused all semester. I found his powerpoint lecture style to be incredibly dull, and heavily-weighted tests aren't an effective way to test ability. Also, Marcus was quite unapproachable outside of class. Hard to get a hold of and very impersonal.

I took the Honours seminar with him last semester, and loved it. He helped so much with all of our varied research topics and gave excellent feedback. He is always accessible by email and office hours. When you first meet him you may feel a bit intimidated, however, you will soon realize that he is the nicest professor. Highly recommend.

Comment:

Professor Milwright is like a cliche British bumbling prof but in the best way. He has loads of knowledge on the subject and is always willing to discuss topics further. The class is pretty straightforward, graded off a paper and three slide tests. There's no textbook. Would suggest if interested in the subject.

Dr. Milwright is an awesome Prof. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about what he teaches. Youre graded on slide tests, and thats pretty much it, so you absolutely need to attend lecture and take good notes and everything he says, because his powerpoints are very minimal. I had the best time in Dr. Milwright's class this semester. I am not an art history major and I found the subject matter to be highly fascinating and he is a super engaging and really knows his stuff! Looking forward to another class with this prof - oh and there's not textbook, the readings are interesting and lots of podcasts! which i love!

Dr. Milwright is awesome! He is very knowledgable on his subject, great at organizing and presenting information in class, and very clear about his expectations. Definitely one of the most influential professors I had during my degree. I would do my MA just so I could keep taking his classes. If you put in the effort, you will be rewarded.

He does pretty well given the boring material he has to work with. A nice guy, very helpful and knowledgeable. Very clear and easy to listen to. He marks pretty fair as he explains a lot of things in class and if you pay attention you should have no problem repeating his words on a test for a good grade.

Excellent teacher! Would take another class with him. Considering he replaced another prof for this class at the last minute, he was extremely organized. All lecture info translated to the exams well. For a class I thought would be dry, he made it very interesting with his enthusiasm.

I have nightmares about his tests. The lectures are clear and well presented but the exams are a bit of a curve ball. He has lots of little "optional" readings that i think are not really optional at all -eek! very cool class but wasnt a GPA booster for me at all Make sure your only taking 4 classes
