As she only lectured couple classes, it's hard to say whether other classes with her may be better. I found her very blunt and direct, sometimes rude but her lectures were usually interesting. Tests were tough but based off of lectures and the textbook so weren't overly hard as long as you put in the effort. Won't likely take another class with her

Dr. F doesn't deserve the criticism she receives. She is extremely intelligent and knowledgeable in the field and treats students fairly if she is given the respect she deserves. A few classes were cancelled over the sem and the class didn't seem to have much sympathy over the fact that profs can get sick too lol. Tough but very interesting class!!

While I do enjoy her lectures and the information she teaches the tests are terrible. all the tests had highly specific questions (that need more specific answers), and most of these she spends very little time on in class. The class is really broad and the tests are almost impossible to study for because she offers no direction whatsoever.

Overall love her teaching style and the way she goes over material. No lecture notes offered, but half the point of university is going to class isn't it? Mark is based on 3 tests that are all pretty straight forward and overall not that hard. As long as you are respectful in class she will respect you, would take again.

This is one of the hardest courses I've taken thus far. I put so much effort into this course and was still not rewarded with even a decent mark on most of the assignments. I would advise not taking this course if you aren't willing to devote A LOT of your time for the assignments.

Honestly not a great class and not a great prof. Brings her negative attitude and personal opinions with her, and honestly just makes it hard to enjoy the class.

Absolutely horrendous. I would avoid taking classes she teaches or coordinates at ANY cost. Easily the worst professor Ive ever had: no lecture notes (slides), study guide for exams, review sessions, or anything of the sort. The lectures are AT BEST, tangential to the actual material. She makes it asfrustrating as possible. Exams are a sh*tshow.

Uses a microphone for the class and has no awareness of it, cannot hear her with it due to always looking the opposite way of it so it does not help. Heavy lecture, but hardly able to listen to what she says. Little awareness of students. If you are the type of student that learns by asking, avoid at all costs, she doesn't notice questions.

Her chapter in the textbook was interesting but when it came down to lecture it was the exact opposite. She is also quite erratic and judgemental of the generation of students she is teaching.

Comment:
Dr. Forgie was quite unhelpful when other university commitments landed over exam periods. She wasn't reasonable or willing to help out at all. She didn't understand that students have other classes besides hers. Beware if your on a sports team that goes away on weekends. Very dry to listen to.

Comment:
Forgie is very intelligent and knowledgeable about psychology. However, this class was brutal for a first year course. You have to memorize lectures and the text book down to the fine detail. You never know what to study. The course offers you to get extra credit though with doing labs outside of class. Take advantage of that because you'll need it

Comment:
Forgie's lectures are boring and uninformative. For psych 1000 she organized the class and it is structured well but the lectures she personally gives are unenjoyable and I find her very difficult to understand. The class itself is straightforward and easy to pass if you attend lectures and read the textbook.

I have had Dr. Forgie for a few classes and I love her classes. Her exams can be tough - you really have to know your stuff. But it's fair and you'll do fine if you put in the work. Her lectures are great and she uses humor. She has 0 tolerance for disrespectful students (good!) and she's a very knowledgeable professor. Highly recommend her classes

Dr. Forgie is tough but fair. The course is difficult but all of the work does help you improve. The exams are intense and there is a lot of writing. Keep up with the readings and pay attention and you'll be fine. Don't be afraid to ask questions. The material was good but the teaching was excellent.

Unfortunately I had to take two courses with Dr. Forgie in my career at the U of L. Both were necessary for my degree and chock-full of necessary material. Dr. Forgie is nice, and she will help students (up to a point) if needed. But her lectures are hard to follow and her expectations for tests are unreasonable. Save yourself the stress and pass.

Very well-organized class, clear syllabus and information, responded quickly to emails and was on top of dates/readings. Would take a class organized by her again. Textbook necessary, three equally weighted exams.
