Professor Mook is a very good professor in my opinion. She always gave great lectures and you could tell that she was both knowledgeable and excited about what she was teaching. There are pop quizzes in the class so attendance is a good idea, the course isn't too difficult however. If you go to class and read, you'll get an A for sure.

She clearly loves the topic she teaches and it shows in her teaching she is quite adept. She is kind and understanding of circumstances and she gives students a second chance if they ask.

Dr. Mook made a boring subject much more interesting. Class is an easy A if you just pay attention and take all the quizzes. Overall she is a good professor and wants you to be able to get an A.

You never stop testing in this class. There's always a reading or map quiz or exam to worry about, which can be a bit much sometimes. Apart from that, she knows what she is talking about and is mostly to the point. Can be rude and condescending when upset, but overall is okay. I never read and barely paid attention in class, and still got all As.

I loved the way she lectured. Her lectures very clear, well connected and interesting. She was clearly very passionate about the topic and always came to class in a positive and helpful mood. While she was always willing to help, she is not a professor that will spoon feed you the information. She expects students to do college level work.

Mook is a strong cup of tea but the class is pretty straightforward. Go to class and/or do the readings and you'll be prepared for the tests.

Overall sort of a no score win on this rating. The class was ridiculously easy (like I never did the reading or studied and got A's on all tests), and the lectures are clear cut, very factual, and not to in depth so all you really have to do is show up to get an A. Wish I had taken for credit, would have been easiest A of my life.

Not a bad teacher, IMO. Though her teaching is a list of facts, and the tests are more philosophical, one thing people cannot deny is that she's knowledgeable. A better archaeologist than teacher, but either way she knows her stuff. Talk to her during office hours & after class and PARTICIPATE in class, and all is well. Dry, smart, sometimes funny.

Professor Mook really knows the subject well and expects the class to have high motivation. As with most language classes, it's very fast-paced. The grade consists of quizzes, exams, and participation. She can come off as cold at times, but it's really just her method of direct instruction. If you give an honest effort, you will enjoy the class.

Mook is a great professor with a really cool disposition. If someone got up and left after a quiz, she would give the rest of us hints on the real test. Funny teacher and she really knows her stuff. Pay attention, take notes, sit up front and you'll do fine and probably will also learn a thing or two.

Dr. Mook knows her subject. Her power points are on the test. She will answer any question after class IF YOU ASK ! Her website is also a great study guide. Not a class for the lazy student. Her personal stories were really cool. She was more then fair- if you opened up and asked for help. Read the books and take notes.

She taught our 200 level class much like a 400 level class. She spoke at us in a rude way and was not approachable. The class itself was okay, but most of us aren't as interested in Ancient Athens as she expects us to be. She definitely understands what she is teaching about, but doesn't portray it in a fun or exciting way. It's all boring lectures

Mook assumes everyone is motivated in her classes, when in reality most of us are just trying to get by. If you don't have an interest in the subject, don't take any of her classes. You will suffer. But in either case, you'll find her classes well worth your tuition. At least for latin 101 anyways.

Mook is the most rude and unprofessional professor I have had. If you ask her a 'stupid' question, she will laugh, and then ask the class to answer the question, as if her breath was to good to waste. She knows what she's talking about but her pedagogy frankly sucks! She is very unprofessional, I do not recommend her at all.

Dr. Mook has a lot to say, and you better be in class to hear it if you want a good grade. She is more of an archaeologist than a professor, but is still fantastic. Her tests are easy if you go to class, and her stories and knowledge from being in the Mediterranean are worth it! One of my favorite professors.

While Prof. Mook was knowledgeable about her subject, she lacked teaching abilities. Her tests and lectures were disorganized, topics were covered in random order, and she rambled in a monotone. She also seemed to think that her students were already scholars in her subject! I do not recommend Prof. Mook or any of her classes - I was disappointed.

Her first test was awful.... 90 t/f, mult choice questions + 1 page essay.... and we didn't even get the full hour and a half. I studied quite a bit, too. Her slides are worthless because there are barely any useful pieces of information. I would definately NOT recommend her for this class. For a 200 level class, this is ridiculous!
