Great Teacher, knows her endangered languages and gives excellent examples that she herself has examined fully. Lots of work though for a 3 week class, so make sure you are interested in topic. Will take more classes that she is offering for sure.

Well, most ppl dislike her, but I'm okay. She is tough but rational. If you need to talk to her, talk to her. She is willing to help you solve the problems. This class is hard 'coz too much to read on minority languages and big project (paper + presentation). No recommmend if you're not interested in this field 'coz it's gonna drive you crazy

Despite the low rating, I loved her course. She has a lot of experience in the field of Applied Linguistics, and is objective when she talks about sensitive issues. I really enjoyed her course.

Opinionated, shallow and full of bias. She likes people to think that she is much more knowledgeable than she really is. One of the biggest flakes I ever met at UVIC. I would NEVER recommend this instructor to any serious student. They would be better off taking a course in belly dancing.

After seeing how this woman "trains" people how to teach, I can truly understand why British Columbia ranks near the bottom of Canada in quality of education. This woman gives a whole new meaning to the term "dumbed down classroom". She should learn how to teach herself. Her classes are just fluff!
