Maria Traub is an amazing professor. She is a sweetheart that is always willingly to give you extra help or reexplain a concept if you do not understand it. She loves when people participate in class so raise your hand a couple of times. If I could take another class with her I totally would!

She could be very helpful at times, but her attitude is the problem. She gets very upset when someone gives their opinion in class and she is very rude. Because she is so mean, I never ever wanted to ask for help during class or during her office hours. She could be a excellent teacher if she change her attitude.

The class is fairly easy even if you've never had French before. But the teacher can a bit cold in her words. She isn't much help and tells us to seek guidance from our class mates than her. She doesn't like when students give their opinions of her class. Also her pace is really slow compared to the other French teacher.

Focused only on French history. Required 8 books which was money and time consuming. Traub was VERY rude, presumptuous, and offending. Has NO basis for grading system; if she likes you, you get an A. Tries to start class discussions but ends up talking at the class. Dry content and overall poor grasp of classroom-disappointing!

Dr. Traub is an eccentric instructor. She tries very hard to start discussions in class and fails every time. She has occasional mood swings in class, one minute smiling and giggling and then angry at the class for no apparent reason and back to happy. She spends a majority of the class summarizing the readings. No real learing happens in class
