She teaches by presenting grammar concepts in class, assigning easy online homework, and then doing participation activities to solidify grammar concepts. Answers questions easily and in a clear way. No-nonsense, but loves to chat about French-related topics. Final was a take home test.

she is really nice and helpful but cancels class often due to getting sick/age you don't have to look at the textbook at all to pass the class for class understand camera techniques and watch the films for the paper get feedback from her if you are not doing well on the papers because that means there's something missing that she's looking for

Horrible teacher. She should not be teaching a foreign language. This whole class is a review for me and I did very well in high school French but somehow she managed to leave me confused by the end of class. Cannot explain anything to save her life. The online homework is designed to raise your blood pressure, so do the book activities instead.

She cares for her students, helps when she can, responds to emails immediately and tries her best even though she isn't a French native, but there are times where she could use more patience and compassion for miscommunication and confusion. She isn't a big believer in tests, which is nice, so just do the homework and study for the quizzes.

Pretty easy class overall. But Marie is not a good teacher at all. She cancels frequently without changing the syllabus. Doesn't provide much "teaching" so if you take this course, plan on learning everything from the book.

Great teacher, incredibly easy grader. Easiest A in a class. She is very helpful if you get to know her and really wants all of her students to get A's. No tests, only essays and they were very easy. incredibly easy A.

Marie is a good teacher and made sure we understood the French literature we were reading. But she is by far the most unprofessional teacher I ever had. She intentionally belittled be in front of my classmates, and then bad mouthed me to others outside of the department. She is a good teacher, but she will stab you in the back if she can.

Marie is a decent professor. She isn't always consistent in her teaching, but she covers the whole workbook and knows what she's talking about. The grammar in this class was pretty much review for me (after 5 years of high school French), but it was still helpful. It's good to go to class, but one or two skips won't be the end of the world.

I've had Marie for 2 French classes now, and gotten good grades in both. She's very laid-back and easy going for a foreign language prof, but she knows her stuff. You do have to be self-motivated to understand the material that she skips and to study on the frequent days class is cancelled. Just put in some effort and you can pass easily.

She knows the material well, and is very open to questions. This class moved at a slow enough pace that you can keep up with the homework. Tests every two weeks.

Useless woman and useless teacher. Doesn't know how to teach and doesn't care if you pass or fail. Upon all the bad reviews, she is still teaching. Dont worry, time will catch up with her.

Take this for your Tier III with her for sure. Basically I put NO EFFORT into this class, at all, and walked away with a good grade. 4 papers on films I never even went to watch. You learn enough in the in class discussions, never once used the book (don't but it). Loved that we never had class too cause she's crazy...

Toward the end of the semester, I asked her for help formulating a thesis for a final paper, and she more or less told me that my idea was crap and wouldn't work. The paper was optional, so I ended up opting not to do it. Then when I found a mistake in my grade, and told her about it, she didn't change it because it wouldn't change my letter grade.

DO NOT take GenEd with her. Yes it's an easy class because her lectures are so boring and pointless but the papers are graded really harsh and you cannot forget to take the stupid online library quizes (which are totally irrelevant) or else it will screw your grade. The only good thing was that attendance wasn't mandatory.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS FROM HER! Lectures were virtually pointless. Online assignments were easy, answers were in the book. It is difficult to get a good grade on the essays and that is where the majority of your overall grade comes from. I ended up with a B in the class. Unless you are an AMAZING writer I would not recommend taking GenEd from her.

Had Sabine Davis for 101 and thought this prof. would be better at first. I was dead wrong. She is unprepared, doesn't engage the class, and her tests are extremely hard given that she doesn't help you prepare for them well at all. She got canned by the university and this is her last semester. I think she's just been going through the motions.

Glynn was a great proffesor. Always very friendly and understanding. Kept class simple and clear. Yes, she does not allow cells or eating in class, but who cares? Pretty easy to get an A. Great Proffesor!
