She was really adorable. The class was a breeze. just take notes and follow the study guides. I didn't even need to read the book, which would have been nice to know before i dropped 95 bucks on it.

Her class is so boring, she is very old and always lose her voice when she is lecturing. All she does is boring lecture, no fun in class at all. She makes art history so boring that I don't want to learrn or go to class. It's not a hard class just very boring.

This is the best Art History I've ever taken. She knows SO much about the subject and keeps up to date with findings, having gone to see the sites in person. If she sees you interested in the subject and making a strong effort in class, she'll like you a lot. Lectures were so interesting. She's a bit snarky about mysticism, rants sometimes. Lol

sometimes I feel like it would have been a lot easier to take this class online. there wasn't a lot of teaching involved. you just need to take notes and everything is in the book. just turn in slide flashcards when she grades notebooks and save yourself a lot of time.

Marie tries to get the class to interact with her. But we seemed more then reluctant to participate in class. Her lectures seem to be never ending and are filled with information. She verbally gives information too. Her test are a bit difficult. She doesn't focus that much on the date of the object, but you better know the piece inside and out.

I agree with everyone on here. Her class is really easy, assuming you study. You're not going to be getting away from anything in this class, if you study its easy and if you dont then its hard. The book was pointless in this class, the in class notes were the material for the tests so flashcards are a good way to study. DON'T BUY THE BOOK!

Great teacher. There is never any homework in this class only reading and taking notes on the slides during class. Tests are medium difficulty and there is a short essay on a piece of artwork in Savannah and a group project on Ancient Greece or Rome. Just pay attention to the slides and you'll do fine.

I personally thought her class was very easy. Compared to what my friends' art histories classes, I was glad I had this teacher- specially when it came to the type of tests she gave. Sure during class she rambled and got off subject, but to me that was easy to get over. I recommend her.

maybe for the higher courses she's better, but for west survey 1, she's boring. She also frequently gets info wrong, at one point contradicting her own slides. How can you get information WRONG when it is PROJECTED right behind you??? Her tests are of medium difficulty, but you can BS her notes assignment and she'll never notice.

She rambled, spoke slowly, and restated everything many, many times. She knows Pre-Columbian art well, as that is her specialty, but she is clueless about most other things and pronounces many names incorrectly. This class was boring and what I learned, I learned from reading the book. I do not recommend her for this class.

Marie speaks slowly and has a tendency to ramble, but is very knowledgeable about her material. She is considered an expert in her field by many scholars around the world. I would not take her classes unless you have a true interest in Pre Columbian art, as some people tend to find her lectures boring. She was my mentor, so I think she is fantastic

PreColumbian Art and Architecture of Peru was a great Art History class. And Timberlake is a great teacher. Her tests are super easy, she gives you the essay question in advance so you can study for it. If you do badly, it's your own fault.

As the others said, knows her subjects well. Hard for her to hear you in class so speak up. Concerned about her students but won't pull you aside unless it's conference or you talk to her yourself. Try to keep awake and take simple notes and you'll be fine.
