I couldn't understand her through her shakey voice half of the time and her exams made no sense to me even after a fair ammount of studying. I didn't like her teaching style at all, and I found the classes to be overly boring. She may be a nice lady, but not a good professor.

Seriously, ruined my entire experience with contemporary art. She was hard to understand, her exams made NO sense, and to top it all off she grades relatively hard, even though she doesn't cover the material that you need for the exams! Oh! and before this class I wasn't aware that Wikipedia is a scholarly source! Irritating!!!

Well, maybe sit back row so your not distracted by her quivering voice->Extremely distracting!! Yes she knows a lot, but the videos are boring, lectures fairly useless, because her papers are for research and she gives research questions for her tests. Not worth it

She is nice and knows a lot, but she is unbelieveably unclear in her instructions and the material on her exams does not match with her lecture material. In exams, EVERYONE is confused. The upside to this apparent difficulty is that she grades pretty easily. This was the case in Modern to Contemp, but she taught better in 18th-19th Cent Art.

Many students are discouraged immediately by this professor's passive teaching style, and by doing so they completely disregard her wealth of knowledge in the subject of art history. Many individuals interpret her courses as disorganized and unclear, however, the foundation is based upon independent research and learning.

very boring class didnt learn nething in the 3hr lectures, hard prof to listen to (quivering voice) dont expect to get good notes in class(if you can get any)class time is NOT spent learning about what will be on the exam. not recommended

I would rather get a tooth extracted that sit through another lecture. Although she is knowledgeable, her speaking voice and compounded by the banging and cracklinkg noises created by the lack of dexterity she exhibits when holding her microphone makes her *EXTREEMLY* difficult to follow.

The most boring and terrible teacher I have ever had. I've never had a worst class. I didn't learn anything vauluable from her lectures, since she doesn't make sense when she speaks, and her exams don't have any reflection on what she "taught" in class. Terrible teacher.

Nice lady but terrible lecturer. Seemed like she was going to explode or run away from the fear of being in front of the class. Like a rabbit caught in the headlights. Very uneven pacing of the class.

Marilyn is one of sweetest people. She is so intelligent but she would be much more suited to less public-related job. It's impossible to take notes in her class and the exams were all over the place so she had to talk through the whole thing.

A very nice, intelligent person, but a terrible speaker and very boring teacher. It is often hard to catch what she's saying due to her trailing off, and her tests are too extensive. Dr. Baker would be much better to learn from one on one.
