Ive never been more determined to try harder in a class. If you try hard you WILL see results. He isnt a hard prof... the class itself is difficult, but his exams are long but generous (especially the written.. mc is harder tho) Hes pretty funny but he can be slightly sarcastic but i dont mind. Really informative and helpful. I learned so much

Comment:

You will definitely use Mario's office hours! It is absolutely crucial or you won't do well in the lecture. The lecture portion is what will hit your grade. The lab portion are not easy marks, but do the work and you will be ok except the Mitosis and Meiosis quiz. That quiz is on another level of details wanted. 10/10 would take Mario again.

Mario is okay. His quizzes and midterms are average. You have to study a lot to get a pretty decent mark. He goes off topic a lot during lectures. His group quizzes are a major grade downer because he gives less time to do them in a group as to individual quizzes. His worksheets are good to keep up with the material. Be sure to draw concepts. he <3

Mario is amazing. You can see how passionate he is about genetics, and he's hilarious too! His midterms are not hard at all if you do his worksheets and show up to class. Has lots of review classes to help you study. For midterms he will ask the class what day fits with their schedule which is super considerate of him. Would take him again.

Mario cares a lot about his students, and is always available to help you out. You have to put the work in with this guy, but it's worth it. His notes aren't the best, and he can definitely breeze through topics. His office door is always open.

He is helpful, but having the text, his notes as well as his power points make things a little convoluted and difficult to determine what he wants you to know. It is especially difficult when he breezes through power point slides, saying "You don't need to know this," so you must attend his lectures.

GREAT INSTRUCTOR! If u are interested in a career in Biology u MUST take classes with him. knowledgeable about careers in biology & what to expect!! Work hard & u will be rewarded. Encourages students to come to office hours & his door is always open(literally!).Lazy students will give him a poor rating but he is the best bio teacher at langara!

His notes are very wordy and he obv likes what he does so sometimes he talks about things you don't really need to know, which is confusing sometimes. His tests are a lot of marks for a short amount of time. Get ready to write your hands off. Draw pictures! Explains in a lot of detail which is good. Ask anything!

Mario is a very knowledgeable teacher. He knows a lot about what he is talking about. The class however is pretty hard. students in other biology classes were not covering any of the material in the depth my class was. But are you taking the course for the grade or to learn? uses terminology right off the bat knowing most have no prior education in biology. very biased towards marking. i didnt attend a few classes wrote theTest comparedMarks and what we wrote.People that attended the class had relatively high marks in written section however bombed the mc. i guess he cant give free marks to the people he likes on mcEh?

Mario is a dedicated professor who brings his enthusiasm for Biology to each and every lecture. He has thorough lecture notes which are just as good as the text. He also 'colours' the material in each lecture with highly relevant and related examples to help understand the concepts.

Great teacher. His exams are extremely fair , at time a bit difficult if you don't study enough. He want the best for his students overall. Make sure you actually like Biology, don't waste your time and his if you are going to slack off and never show up for class.

THE most boring prof I've ever had. Speaks in a barely audible, monotone voice. When he turns his back to write something on the board, he doesn't raise his voice to compensate for his back being turned. Really inconsistent with turning lights off when using overhead projections..WHY? Favours particular students for reasons I shouldn't get into.
